Meet Daisy Maevis!

So I wasn't able to post much this week-- it has been busy; my wife and I have our anniversary and then her birthday all at once... and we went to the local shelter, the Idaho Humane Society, and adopted Daisy Maevis!

I wanted a dog named "Daisy" because my grandparents had a sweet old Labrador Retriever named Daisy. But not just plain ol' Daisy, we were going to name her something cool like "Daisy Mae". But when we got to the pound, we found a sweet girl already named "Mavis", so we just kept the name and compounded it.

Daisy Maevis is about 1 year old and comes to us as a companion for our 5-year-old Beagle-Pitbull mix, "Sweet Pea". We think Daisy Maevis is a Doberman/German Shepherd mix.

She's a sweet, derpy girl that needs a bath, but she recently finished getting spayed at the Humane Society, so we can't get her stitches wet for another couple weeks.

Daisy and Sweets have already started to play together, so we think this should be a good match. Sweet Pea especially has really missed having a companion dog since Butter passed in December.

Anyhow, I just wanted to show why I missed Wednesday's post, and I have a BOHICA Blues ready for next week. It will start with the usual Doodles on Monday, and then I'll just post the comic on Wednesday the 10th.
