We recently had a "change of command" ceremony. This was the idea that popped into my head.

We immediately went into the "MDMP" process, or the "Military Decision-Making Process". This is a real thing, and it is a step-by-step method of evaluating a situation or mission, determining its contributing factors, and coming up with ways to deal with these factors, in order to reach a favored conclusion. That is the Cliff Notes version. Some staff officers really like the MDMP concept and we've spent hours and hours, and even multiple days, beating a subject to death. Our current XO (Executive Offer, the second-in-command) really finds MDMP to be a waste of time but we do quick versions because he knows some people really lean on the formula.

You end up with a lot of PowerPoint slides with a lot of "Bullet Points".

This is how it all devolves, regardless.
Have a good week!
