Something many 'Murikans are woefully ignorant of. It's one reason I recommend to foreigners to just go for 20% of the bill (before any discounts). Seriously, those people work for that money. It sucks that in the US they don't get properly paid.

Tipping is so important in the us because tipped employees min wage is only 2.13 to a maximum of 5.12 on top of that tipped employees get charged taxes on 10% if thy get the tip or not! glad to see the to of you are having a great time!
