So, there are some backend movements happening.
The focus of Pure itself when it was conceptualized as a Sol successor, was a more accurate implementation of relative light power between the sun and artificial lighting. To this end a ridiculously powerful new AE method was developed by Peter Boese. This enabled a much extended sun and general daytime brightness, without Yebis AE mucking the entire thing up with it's wild swings. However ye olden AC rendering engine said, hol' up. With increased daytime brightness some issues of AC become borderline unmanageable. Chief among these are:
Exaggerated example:

This is an exceptionally critical on SRP, a track against which C13 AEGIS has always been optimized. Perhaps obvious given the naming.
But with 1.44 a local maximum was hit when daytime aesthetics could not be pushed any further. As such the decision was made to implement this as a toggle.

You can now enable "Power of the sun", which will significantly boost daytime celestial light source strength. In some instances, the AE will eat most of it, in others the difference is rather stark, but the important thing is the underlying relationship change. A boost to daytime brightness enables a stronger push on reflections, and also changes the look of glare, god-rays, and also has a minor effect on local presentation of saturation. Overall a not insignificant change. All of that said, it may need disabling for interior photo maps and tunnel heavy maps. I do wonder what the future of SRP will bring on this front.
But that's not all.
Drago tone mapping is here! I know, i know, i've been hyping up C13 Live, but i've been working on that, and i'm just not happy with how it's coming. But C13 Aegis is still alive it seems. Drago is not this massive change, but it is an alternative aesthetic that foregoes the filmic vibe in the name of optimum visibility, mostly noticeable at night, but you will also notice there are no milky blacks at daytime etc. For now i have maintained the C13 Color space transform even for Drago.
