Added 2021-08-09 17:28:03 +0000 UTCAfter dealing with her uninvited guests, Andromeda’s ruined ship drifted unmoored through space. It was some time before another ship responded to her distress beacon. In those months alone she had nothing to do but wait, reshaping herself in the dark.

This is definitely on the weirder side for me, hope at least some of you dig this. I wanted to lean into the horror side of things for this illustration, which I realize won’t be for everyone.

2021-08-09 18:46:41 +0000 UTCThank you so much! The thought behind the duplication is that #1 it’s hot, and #2 I imagine Andromeda would be editing her biology with the raw genetic material she has access to. Her body already knows how to make arms and torsos and eyes, so why not use that info?

2021-08-09 18:39:59 +0000 UTCOh she's even more beautiful in color. There's definitely plenty of us here that LOVE the extent of this and you've delivered it perfectly. The subtle glows of bioluminesence, the pulsating veins visible through her changing skin, the mismatched assymetry as her body grows and changes differently in different places... I especially love the duplication going on; extra arms, legs, tails, torso, eyes. Really emphasizes the kind of adaptive redundant mutation the RE-style inspiration trades in, but that absolutely WILD tongue is the true centerpiece, really stealing the show. It looks super poised to protect that cluster on her collar, which I doubt is as much of a weak point as it looks!
