Winter Prince ❄️ real-time painting process! ✏️🌨️

Happy new week everyone! I hope you all had a restful weekend 🥰

Here is a new real-time video for you! This is the painting process of my Winter Prince drawing ☺️ I mentioned in my last post that this was a chaotic process, and it was so fun to read your comments and see that we all go through it 😂

This wintry prince looked a bit more like an autumn prince at first, and the background went through soooo many transformations! I think it’s cool to see how a drawing evolves though, so I included the full process for you :)

I hope you all enjoy it!! 🧡

Stay tuned for our bonus video poll that I’ll be posting soon too! Devoted Dragonfly members will get to vote for an upcoming video topic 🥰

Love,

Hey Sofia! 😄 For color schemes, you’re right that it’s good to keep the palette relatively simple (2-3 shades to start with) and let the in-between hues add variation :) I tend to lean toward complimentary palettes (opposites on the color wheel) because it adds a lot of visual interest! Let’s say I’m painting something with a lot of dark blues and that’s the main palette — I’ll usually add some pops of orange or pink to create emphasis ☺️ I totally recommend watching my tutorial about color theory for a more in-depth analysis! 💗 Omg there are so many romantasy books I could recommend 👀👀 But a lesser known one that’s SO good is Wind Daughter! The male lead actually looks a lot like my ice prince drawing hehe 🤭

I know this is random! It’s there anyway or canvas size for instagram?! How do you make your art look so big appearing on IG?! I’ve trying to figure it out!

Hii! I think I’m making a habit of this, but here goes my question per post- I was wondering, how do you exactly come up with compelling colour schemes (Bc I know that usually it is best to have 3 ) and base colours for things? (For example how do you know, which base colours will affect the final colour it will look like?) I hope this makes sense…. (Also. If it’s not a bother I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a less known romantasy or book in general >.< )
