YouTube lowers the boom
Added 2024-05-23 03:46:26 +0000 UTCI uploaded a private draft version of the G5 video to YouTube. A couple pieces of music were caught by YouTube's copyright screener. I should have known before I uploaded that those would be a problem! Given the amount of musical pieces in the video, I was happy that's ALL they found.
So, I turn to Alexander Brandon (Funky Rustic), composer for the Unreal and Unreal Tournament games for some "free-to-use with credit" music that he made available to me.
Unfortunate for composers that there is no option for us to pay a manageable fee for use, or even a percentage of earnings, because no video creator is just going to hand all ad revenue generated by a video to the owner of a 20 second music clip that was used!

2024-05-24 04:34:28 +0000 UTCThat is a good idea. I had to do something similar with the Charlie Brown bit from the G5 video that I posted here on Christmas. I had to cut the iMac G3 part of it because YouTube recognized the Christmas Tree music. So just those here get to see that. It wonβt be in the final video. Definitely I could put it back for the Patreon version. As for the music pieces that I just cut, they were not critical, and replacing them did not bother me. Patreon makes it an option, though. Thanks for the suggestion!

2024-05-24 04:27:54 +0000 UTCI'm not sure how this would affect your income on the video (and I don't think you should do anything to would hurt your bottom line, your videos are amazing), but could you upload the version and keep it for Patrons only, and then do a version without those clips/sounds for regular viewers? Just a thought. Regardless, I can't wait to see the video!
