PET spotted in commercial
Added 2025-05-10 02:44:09 +0000 UTCI've always annoyed my wife by saying "mac." every time I see one on TV or in a movie, but this two second clip from a commercial for Tangerine banking services last night threw me for a loop. Serendipitous to see this after my last post. Sure they digitally removed the labels and brightness control from the backside to make it look more bland and dystopian, but they added a modern mouse so people know it's a computer. Impressive job by the production designer sourcing a PET! But more importantly, is the universe trying to tell me something?

I literally do the same exact thing. Except I go a step further and pause it and analyze it to deduce what specific model it is. For example, when I watch Modern Family with my girlfriend, I always comment on the MacBook Pro models they have. I’m like “oh that MacBook has a DVD drive, this must be an early episode”.
