How should I monetize my videos?

So my financial situation has gotten pretty tight over the last month or so, and as much as I hate it, I think it's time I take my situation a bit more seriously and start monetizing my videos. I had the idea of letting them run ad free for a month before I monetize them, but I want to let you guys vote on it, since you're all essentially the shareholders of my 'company'.

I've made a form where you all can vote on what I should do:

Thanks for everything, guys. Sorry it had to come to this.

ads are fine, just no raid shadow legends :)

It is very possible that YT promotes monetized content more than the rest. By all means, turn the ads on.

The thing is, he could activate ads in all of his videos immediately. Effectively turning his revenue stream on.

I think a simple math would be to preview the video to the patrons for the same amount of time (without ads) and when it releases completely, activate ads then? That way patrons get the exclusive they paid for, and subscribers on youtube pay with the ads. For example, two weeks early access for patrons, is the same two weeks before activating ads on youtube and premiering the video. That way you will not miss the first "wave" of viewers on YT. As long as the amount of time is the same, I think everyone will be happy.

Go for it man... You deserve to be paid for your work ASAP.

Dude. Covid. A lot of people are tight on money. Just be open and honest, I'm sure more people would understand than not.

Vaati

I have no problem with monetization, creators like yourself bring amazing content for literally free.

Thanks for that info, I would absolutely love to support GOG officially. As an archival junkie, I love that site to death. Just sent out an email

Monetize instantly. Anyone who is bothered by ads uses an adblocker anyways :) Also, join the GOG affiliate program (https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212184689-Contact-information-for-affiliates-press-publishers-future-employees?product=gog) and link to relevant games on GOG in the video description. From that linked thread it looks like the GOG affiliate program might be dead, but Amazon, Gamestop, and G2A have active affiliate programs.

i for one am happy to watch an ad or two to support creators! (although i have youtube premium so it doesn’t affect me either way)
