January Prints!

As you might recall, about a month ago Shaun and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary of working together. Yes, you read that correctly. We have been doing photo shoot together for over 10 years. In an attempt to celebrate that I decided I wanted Shaun to pick this months prints, and i wanted him to pick some of his favourite shots or all time. Think of it almost like a "best of"  series, but its specifically Shaun Simpsons personal best of.

Since all of these photos will span out 10 years shooting together I thought it might be nice to give you guys a little sneak peak into our heads and the process of the images. I decided to attach our conversations about the photos below for you all get a more personal look into each! 

Up first is a shot from one of our halloween shoots. We call this series Bed and Bondage (for obvious reasons) and it was meant to be a series based on possession. The demon has taken me over and I've been strapped down to hald me still for the exorcism. What happens next is up to your imagination! , 

This shot will be used for Januarys Lewd 8x10. Ghost not included!

BED & BONDAGE:

SHAUN: I've definitely said this before, but every shoot I do with you, my goal is to impress you with the results; this shoot was one of our biggest productions, so I really tried to level-up my work. It was one of our most recent shoots, and also one of my all-time favourites; it was intense, but everything fell into place kinda flawlessly. Beyond just the fun time hanging out, setting up, and shooting, I think working on location pushed our creativity and connection to new level. Plus, aging is treating you well and you've never looked better; you were serving pure fire, and the laughter and outtakes are memories that'll last a lifetime.

MIKE: One of the best parts of this shoot was the fact that we had the location for as many hours as we wanted. That meant we could really take our time and have fun. We had so many ideas bouncing around in our heads and all the time to make them a reality. We had brought a lot of random bondage style stuff which isn’t typically my style, so at first I was hesitant that I would put any of it to use. Thankfully because we were shooting for so long there was plenty of time for indulging in some liquid courage. That’s right people, the wine you see in the photos is never just a prop. That wine helped me to relax, rid me of some inhibitions, and I realized that I wanted to push myself in directions I hadn’t gone before. I’m thankful that we went for it because I really loved the results of this shoot. It is unquestionably one of my all-time favourites, and this shot specifically was one I thought I would hate and I love. Its SO not me, but at the same time, it really is.

SHAUN: I always love the longer shoots we do (this series, Venom, Hammpire), some of my all-time favourite memories in life! Most of the time when I do a really long shoot, I’m in pain, exhausted, and just want it to end; working with you, I never want to put the camera down! For this shoot I took my first shot at 4:25pm, and I took my last shot at 12:10am! I picked this shot because it had such a unique vibe; when I look at it, I see a serene intensity that really tells a story – A powerful being, tied-down and submissive, but could easily release himself and break his restraints, if he wanted the freedom. Plus, you look phenomenal.

MIKE: Fun fact: the black stuff we used on my hands for this shoot, we also used on my feet. My shower is STILL stained to this day with the black foot prints. The only reason I did that fun fact is because I agree with everything you just said, but still need to make a comment. God, such an attention whore.

SHAUN: OMG, Cleaning up that AirBnB space afterwards was ridiculous! Scrubbing black hand and footprints off the floors, walls, stairs, and ceilings; the wine, music, and post-shoot adrenaline rush definitely helped!
