The Pros and Cons of being a Pro and attending Cons

Hey everyone! I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what the future hold for me and cosplay and I want to start of by saying thank you to everyone who been a part of this crazy journey! What patreon is and what it means to me has changed so much.

I Remember when I started I was only posting once or twice a week and even those posts were usually nothing special. It would take me so long to get costumes finished, and many of them went forever unfinished (RIP poison ivy, doom man, magikarp, Wonder Woman). At some point I was able to really push myself and now I’m trying to have new looks every month and attempting to post QUALITY content nearly everyday. I Who are genuinely struggle to think of any other content creator in the cosplay world doing this much. and that says something because you all know I hate to give myself a compliment. That said…

I really need to find a bit more balance in my life. I find that I am struggling to stay in love with a Cosplay, because it is what I spend every waking hour doing. that isn’t even necessarily a complaint, I consider myself to be very very very lucky. OK look, I’m gonna stop rambling and get to the point.

I’m trying to figure out how to bring more balance to my life and I think what I want to do moving forward is focus a bit more on costume making, and content creating. Right now I feel like I don’t have time to make new costumes because I’m spending too much time on the other parts of Patreon. One of the ideas I have is that I will only send prints out on every second month and limiting the smaller prints.

These two things would give me mcu more free time for making costumes and would also fit my shipping cost in half which would be more money for supplies and locations. With that I would also add monthly digital prints as a bonus. I know logistically it might end up being a nightmare if people only stick around for one month or leave halfway through, but I guess that’s some thing I’ll have to figure out.

Anyway, I’d love some feedback on this because nothing is set in stone, it’s just an idea that popped into my head when I was brainstorming ways to try to focus more on the craft and get some of my time back.

So yeah, let me know what you think, or if you have any other ideas! I love you all so much and I can’t thank you all for everything you do for me. Y’all are my care Bears.

I love the prints, always a highlight of the month, but I'm here to support and shoot with you regardless. And ya know I'm always more than happy to lend a hand if there's ever anything I can do to help out. 💙

Instead of focusing so much on pictures of you, I'd love to see more pictures of your works-in-progress. Use your new focus on costumes to create content with that. It would be cool to see videos of you working on your projects, showing some of your process. And 3-4 updates a week is fine if it takes stress off of you. I started following you because of your cosplay anyway. The thirst traps are a pleasant bonus ;)

Work life balance is important, even doing what you love can become boring if it becomes too monotonous or demanding.

Ultimately I just want you to be happy. And if that's making costumes and working on content, then do that. I certainly don't expect you to put out content every single week, multiple days of the week. I'm always amazed at the people who can do that. :)

I opted out of prints a long time ago - I don't need a hard copy or a digital print - I just enjoy this page and your social media

I like Greg's idea of downloadable digital prints in a zip folder and physical prints as an occasional bonus and/or in a print store at a discount for Patrons.

I think it’s safe to say that as long as you enjoy what you are doing we’ll support your decisions. I just enjoy going along for the ride and love seeing your creative mind at work. So as long as you’re finding some way sharing that process with us then I so go for it.

Mike - you do you. For me, I joined here because I wanted to watch you and your crazy life. I honestly didn't expect content every day. It's a bonus for us, but if you end up burning yourself out, then we all lose. So, go ahead and find that balance. Do what moves you. Do what's right for YOU. Yeah, some people will complain, but it is not your responsibility to make EVERYONE happy. Make yourself happy - that's what I'm here to see.

As many maker rabbit holes I fall into on YouTube, that would be amazing content for me

I certainly want you to find balance and be well. On the other hand, I really look forward to the monthly prints.
