Costume updates!

So I just wanted to let you in on the next 4 costumes I'll be working on over the next few months! From left to right they are: The Shredder from ninja turtles, Male Poison Ivy, Armoured Magikarp, and a new Ice man! I'm headed to katsucon this February so I need to really get a move on with these.Shredder: I have always loved the ninja turtles. While looking through my old family photo album during the holidays I saw that even when I was 3 years old I had a ninja turtle poster in my room. That got me thinking and I realized how much I would love to do a Shredder cosplay. He's both a bad ass and honourable character. Well...as much as you can be for a guy who like to punch turtles. I have a few ideas for Shredder which include a complete black and white version similar to the original comics or a really bright one similar to the NES game. Guess we will have to wait and see!Poison Ivy: not a whole lot to say on this one. It's in the process of being complicated now and while the actual building isn't that hard the concept has been pretty difficult. I may end up going with something a little more similar to the image above because the more clothing I have on the more I resemble Peter Pan or the jolly green giant. Magikarp: This is a concept I have been working on for over a year. The image you see above is a rough draft of the style I'm looking to achieve. It's basically a samurai outfit that will be and homage of Magikarp. I've loved this terrible Pokemon ever since if first saw him flipping around in the anime. I think I just relate to how at first everyone thinks he is useless but if you stick with him you'll see that it was worth it. The samurai aspect is something I love because I feel it honours Japanese culture which is not only wonderful because Pokémon is Japanese but also because Magikarp is based of of koi fish which also hold a long history in Japanese art and culture. The drawing is a little bare bones but there will be fish scales, in the upper armour, the crown will resemble MK's top fin and my weapons will be fans that are built to look like MK's side fins. This is a big project for me but it's a passion project. Iceman: yeah I know I'm obsessed with iceman but the thing is I only cosplay characters I love and this he has always been one of my favourite x-men. For this version I want it to be much more XMEN like. I want the big red X on the belt and the X symbol in the jacket. I want it to be bobby as if he is starting to transform and use his powers. It's fair to say I'm not exactly sure what I want but in the end I'm sure it will be an original design. Anyway, if you made it this far you are amazing!
