A huge fucking thank you!

This is a really interesting article and while it's clear that the writer is a part of the community and has done their research, I don't tend to agree with what they are saying. There is some truth to the idea that it is strange to make a child's character sexy. This is something I've struggled with every time I dress up as robin. It's one of the reason I always do my own version of the character.

I also see some merit in worrying that it will create an environment where parents are scared to let their kids cosplay because it's seen as a "sex thing". While that's certainly worrisome, I think it's common sense to recognize that every artistic avenue has a side of it steeped in sex. Are parents afraid of letting their kids act because some actors do porn, or are they afraid to let their kids be photographers or models? It's strange, it complicated, but I am glad it's being talked about.

As a cosplayer who also does "sexy cosplay" I understand where people are coming from, but the hate I have been seeing, the idea that what I do is ruining cosplay, is absolutely ridiculous. So In saying that, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here who supports me. If you are here for my accurate cosplay, my goofy videos, my sexy cosplay, my stories, my model work, or generally just to support my art, thank you so much. Not only thank you for supporting the avenue you're most interested it, but for being a part of all the others as well. You may not be interest in my modelling or cosplay but you still chose to support that and it means so much to me.

You're all the best, I love you!

Sounds like Cosplay has its own "Rule 34", although I do believe it was once reserved for Halloween; but when you got bills to pay... πŸ‘»

As you said, everything may has the sexual thing going on, but it's part of everyone to choose if they want to follow it or just not. As David says also some characters are meant to be sexy and if you like to do them and you like how you look doing it go for it! You do great cosplay and I think it can cover both, sexy and not sexy and it's great of you! Keep the good work mike!!!

Parents policing creativity is the wrong approach. You can have kid-friendly events at cosplay conferences and not demand that the adults conform all the time. Adults have every right to be "adult" when they want to in a respectful, consenting, and safe environment.

There are costumes that are meant to be sexy and cosplayers who do them look great. You do great sexy cosplay
