Added 2018-03-07 23:18:37 +0000 UTCWhen I get invited as a guest at conventions, I make it very clear that I refuse to judge cosplay competitions unless it’s completely necessary. The type of cosplay I do is very different than the type of cosplay people do when competing. Why should I judge someone’s sewing when I am awful at it. I posted this pic because it’s the perfect example of how I had to judge this incredible costume (3rd) while i was wearing spandex and some children’s protective gear. Give me a fucking break.

2018-03-09 03:41:16 +0000 UTCIt's great of you to recognize that dynamic and not daunt the folk competing against each other. Similar to your situation, the judges at a bodybuilding competition are usually not bodybuilders themselves or, if so, they do so in normal clothes.
