Our Life 2: Special Promo Poll (Feature Expansion 2.5)

This poll ties into that last one directly, which is why we're putting them out on the same day.

For the non-mutual feelings feature that was described before, what type of arrangement for that sounds best to you? 

(Non-Mutual feelings would only apply to Crush-Friendship situations, where one party is crushing and the other just views the person as a friend. Feelings of Disinterest and Love would still always be mutual.)

If you choose to have non-mutual feelings with LI 1 or LI 2 the love interest will like the MC MORE than the MC likes the LI. So the MC is always the one who’d get pursued.

If you choose to have non-mutual feelings with LI 1 or LI 2 the love interest will like the MC LESS than the MC likes the LI. So the MC is always the one who’d be pursuing.

Whether it went up or down would depend on which LI you picked. For example, LI 1 would like the MC LESS if you chose to have non-mutual feelings with her while LI 2 would like the MC MORE if you chose to have non-mutual feelings with them. So you could experience pursuing and being pursued. Which was romantic interest did what would be determined after the LIs became more developed as characters.

I am glad majority voted for 3rd choice because I really felt one sided with Cove most of the time like I was forcing him to fall for my MC when playing crush at low or mid initiative in Step 3.

I can imagine. It might be possible if you pick a fixed personality trait at the beginning of a chapter, but otherwise it would be a nightmare to code. Just want to use this opportunity right now to comment on how intricate the game is already, I was really impressed how it takes the development of your affection for Cove (or the lack thereof) into consideration. (Of course my character crushed right away, because just look at this sad and pretty thing among the flowers! But I still explored the options a fair bit.)

Yeah, we probably can't make it that complicated. With the growing up aspects, LI personality/interest changing details, MC customizable personality, custom relationship feature, etc. having the different relationships be even more different depending on the all different personality types would create a massive amount of alterations.

While I really like the option of non-mutual feelings, I had trouble to pick an answer in the poll. I think it would be more natural to implent some kind of system that accounts for personality traits. Like, let's say a love interest prefers assertive persons and you are more of a shy wallflower, and that would result in less interest. I'm aware that this is a lot of work to implent, though, so I understand if that is not an option.
