Our Life 2: Special Promo Poll (Feature Expansion 2)
Added 2020-02-20 21:00:02 +0000 UTCGot another feature expansion poll that's similar to the first one. Like with that one, this is mainly just opinion gathering, the choice that wins here may not end up in OL2. So here's the question!
We may be able to add a new element to how the relationship system works, depending on how well the first game goes and how interested people are in seeing more content in the relationship feature. Which possibility sounds best so far? (This is mainly just opinion gathering, the choice that wins here may not end up in OL2. We'll have to think more about the logistics before finalizing any of these features).
Idea 1:
Adding "Antagonistic" as a Comfort Level option along with Direct, Relaxed, and Nervous. This would allow for friendly rivalry (Antagonistic/Fondness), genuine dislike of a love interest (Antagonistic/Disinterest), angry denial about your feelings (Antagonistic/Crush), etc.
Idea 2:
Allowing you to lower your Interest Level after raising it. Such as having a crush as a kid but deciding you're just friends once you're older, being friends and having a falling out so you don't like each other anymore, etc. If Love is selected you still wouldn't be able to lower that. Love is always permanent.
Idea 3:
Having non-mutual feelings between the MC and LI. Instead of the LI automatically returning the Interest Level of the MC, there'd be an option to let the LI have separate feelings. It'd be possible to create one-sided pining situations. There would be limits to how different the feelings could be in order to keep the script from getting too massive.
Idea 4:
Adding in some kind of jealousy or rivalry system for situations where both LIs are crushing on the MC.
Idea 5:
The option to end up in a polyamorous relationship with both of the main romantic leads
Polls ends March 5th!

Poly option makes me a bit uncomfortable because the game looks cute and fluffy, I wouldn't expect that in that kind of setting. Also, I've watched a lot of tv series with harem and it never end well because someone would still feel left out and there is always a favorite so it turns always toxic. But first option and 4 are good because it would make the characters more human. I think this lacked a lot in Our life 1, MC was too perfect in general and Cove lacks of selfishness. The only moment he was was in Talks and first time ever he entered a fight with MC. Which made their relation more real, imo.

2020-02-23 05:44:44 +0000 UTCI like option 1 and 4. The rivalry option is cool since it makes the player feel special but I always feel bad for the other character that is "left" behind. Antagonistic relationships though usually result in great snark on snark combat,

2020-02-22 10:37:49 +0000 UTCQuite honestly, I think all those options are great, especially the jealousy and the poly angle. Some kind of reaction between the love interests is always good, and I'm a sucker for unconventional relationships, so a poly route would interest me (if it fits the characters, that is).

2020-02-21 06:00:27 +0000 UTCIt'd be nice to have multiple. Though we'd really have to reduce the personality changing feature, maybe remove it entirely.

2020-02-21 05:59:16 +0000 UTCHaha, yeah, we'll see if there ends up being angst possibilities in the second OL game.

2020-02-21 05:58:51 +0000 UTCWent with option 1 because the concepts of Antagonistic/Crush and Antagonistic/Fondness are pretty interesting. Personally, I don't really find idea of LIs fighting over an MC appealing, but I get why people like that. Would much rather have a situation like 5 where everyone gets along (really well).

2020-02-21 02:43:36 +0000 UTCReally liking 1 and 5! Antagonistic/Crush seems fun and though more games have been adding poly options, more is always welcomed!
2020-02-21 01:27:31 +0000 UTCThree and one look s o nice right now, but I know not all of them can be implemented
