Our Life 2: MC's Mom! (Step 1 Sketch)
Added 2021-04-03 18:01:01 +0000 UTCWe have Lani, Pam, and Kyra, and now we've got Mom #4- Ms. Opal Second! She's the single mom of the MC who chose to have a kid through artificial insemination. Because the two are biologically related, she's also customizable in order to match what the player creates for their own character. Though, the options for her are to a much lesser degree than for the MC. She has four skin tones and three hair textures, which can be mixed/matched. But the MC's bio dad never appears in-game, so we can just imagine that any traits the MC didn't get from her are from him instead, haha. We also could consider adding even more choices to customize Opal as like a stretch goal on Patreon or the eventual Kickstarter.
Also, her look isn't the only thing you'll have influence over. In Our Life: Now & Forever they'll be a more overall relationship level that'll be tracked by the game and can change over time, close, decent, strained/distant, rather than how things were generally good but with occasional problems like in the first game. Plus, you'll get to pick what your MC refers to her as (mom, mommy, mama, etc.). That can also change over time. I think it'll be a lot of fun and add some real extra engagement outside of the main element of your experiences with the two leads.
I wonder who's gonna be a clingy momma's kid or an "I'm busy, mom!" kind of MC.

I have a very different relationship with each of my parents and I know my relationship with my mom has grown a lot over time, I'd love to have that same dynamic ingame.

You watch his relationship grow and mature with his parents (especially dad) but your parents just call you a good kid and all choices seem to reflect more on Cove than yourself... MC runs away from home. Mom: That darn neighbor boy. Love OL. The options are great and seem almost limitless, but it feels like the only ones not acknowledging your choices are your parents.
