Our Life: Cove Wedding Vow Discussion

Last month we got an idea of what kinds of traditions you wanted to see included as options in the wedding, and thank you again for all of the feedback on that. Now this month we're opening up a discussion on what you'd want to say in personalized vows to Cove during the ceremony. Do you want to describe what he means in your life, or reference back to a particular moment together, or some such thing? We've got options we think would be nice, and there are certain things that aren't options for the MC because Cove is gonna use them himself, but we're happy to include more possibilities based on player preference.
Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments, or reply to others if they've said something that resonates with you. Like before, this isn't just a popularity poll and we'll include what we can but it likely won't be everything. Thank you 💞

There's plenty of material for wedding vows from the proposal that the MC and Cove had on their White Poppy Hill in the Stage 3 Epilogue. Then there's also the pep talk that Cove gave the MC if the MC expressed doubt of how the MC felt about him/her/themself in the Stage 3 Moment 'Hang'. Cove's speech when it was just him and the MC together at the soiree "I want to keep doing things with you, no matter what, even if I feel weird sometimes. ... Cause when I do whatever it is for real and you are with me, it all feels better in the end. It always does."

Pick 5 moments and something to focus on from each. Then, have a multiple choice option on how to close it out, such as "I love you," You're worth a million twenty-dollar bills," "I need you with me forever," "Liz was always right," "Will you be my merman," etc.

Cove has been that space cadet, that cry baby, that ever-present neighbor, and my best friend (from nicknames and teasing throughout game). Whether you enter the front door, the window, or along the ocean waves, you always light up my day, my life, and my world (summarizes the relationship). From sleepovers and running away to late shifts and teary reunions (from DLC memories and intro to Step 3). I want to spend the rest of my life with Cove James Holden and fireflies in a big house on a beach (from Step 1 moments with Cove, MC, and Lizzie).

So something like: "I knew that life is perfect with you even before High School was over. But I didn't realize how agonizing life can be until I had to move away from you to study."

I can't quote the situation perfectly, but Cove says something along the lines of "[They] pick me, and I pick [them]." when Lizzie is annoyed with Cove for siding with my MC in a race. I absolutely adored him from that moment on. It is my favourite line in all of the game, and I would love to have it be a part of my MC's vows. It could be sappy and sweet, like "I will always pick you, just like I did when we were kids", or slightly humorous, like "... I think we've taken the "picking each other over everyone else" to a pretty extreme level, but I don't mind it at all". It's just... A really special sentiment to me, and I would be a giant, happy crybaby if you were to include it. 🥺 Thank you for asking us - and for all of your amazing work on this masterpiece of a game. ❤️

Like “Im so happy our love has created our child/children” or “im so happy our love has given a our child/children. / chance for child/children“. ♥️

2021-12-02 21:27:36 +0000 UTCIn one of my PT, which I am sure others probably remember to, cliff ripped the 20.00 in half for us and for sentimental reasons I am sure MC has it in her box with her shells. My headcannon is it makes it out during the wedding...I just thought it would be ADORABLE that it would be under ribbon in a bouquet or corsage and it was shown to Cove as a surprise or he was in on it and had it under ribbon in his own corsage or such and it was mentioned in vows and cliff is like shocked and moved and yeah....*tear*

Which is probably a lot of work. I also think having a bit to type in our own response (like when MC told Kyra about their interests) would be cool. Also, probably a lot of work.

I'll pay you 20 bucks if you'll let me love you for the rest of our lives, start a pretzel shop, and go out on crazy car rides that last all night." If you could make it to where we could choose specific events for those I think it'd be really cool

Also maybe mome to we didn't see in the game like something something funny happening in high-school, during a birthday party, maybe if he helped you learn how to surf or came to an art, music, dance or sporting even of yours growing up and how much it ment to MC.

Maybe even quips on embarrassing moments to lift a humorous tone and break some of the tension, like if the MC tried the kiss in the loft of the RV lol. Or maybe just describing the way Cove is, what makes him the person the MC wants to be with forever. We're all already going to cry so you can't go wrong lol.

It's such a sweet call back, and if we hadn't told that little factoid to Cove before to see his reaction. I bet he'd be so cute 😍

I'm excited, though, to explore whatever options we do get for this! But yeah I think an option for something where we talk about how much he means to us, an option for looking back at a certain moment, and an option to be a bit goofy is nice. Or hell if possible allow us to make it a little jokey in any of the options.

Like when I discovered the truth of my biological parents, he was there for me.” Like they flow into each other if the player decides that. But if it’s one or the other, I would like to be able to reference specific moments.
