Our Life: Derek Beta Build 0.1 (PC, Mac, & Android)
Added 2022-03-14 18:01:01 +0000 UTCWe finally have a beta build of Derek's very first outing as the lead character in the story! Definitely no pressure, haha.
This Moment is both a fitting and unusual one to start with. It's the only Moment with a premise that both Cove and Derek share, inviting the boy as a guest to the Summer Soiree. It gives quite an immediate comparison at how different these two are in how they react to things, but it isn't a 100% new experience. There's still more Moments to look forward to that will show how totally different your summer adventures will be when spent with Derek.
You'll have to start a brand new file for Derek's beta content to unlock, but there is an option at the beginning to skip right to Step 2.
New Content:
- An extra scene during the opening of Step 2 that introduces Derek's family, and lets you determine if Derek is a friend or crush
- Derek's version of the Moment "Soiree"
- 15,000 words of new content (it doesn't count the scenes that are the same from the original Soiree Moment)
- New image assets that weren't seen in the main game, like Derek's formal look
It's hard to believe we're actually here after so many years of Cove's story. How strange and exciting. I really hope Derek will be worth the wait 💞

I love Cove don't get me wrong (I feel like I said that too many times now XD) but I simply loved everything about Derek DLC even if it was just a Demo before the official release. What killed me the most however was the cuteness he radiated with his educate and proud of himself/confident behavior in some parts. For example when he introduced himself as my date and he looked so proud and happy while everyone (at least I pictured them to look at Derek like this) looked at this little confident sunshine with their heart melting by the cuteness thinking that it was a miracle being in the same place where he was and the same happened to me. I was literally like "what did I do to deserve this angel?" like if me and all the guests were that meme where people turn into dust after seeing something too beautiful, or maybe when he pulled me closer while dancing and I was like "this is so cute I'm going to die" because I'm slightly taller than Derek, so just picturing how he took the lead made him look really cool in my eyes, for example if people know this two memes "he asked for no pickle" I would be the one behind Derek while he say that XD If I were to use Ship dynamics I would say Sun (Derek, confident, usually happy/cheerful and always trying his best to be of comfort and always protect the people he love but still try to be nice to everyone) and Moon (MC/Me who is just shy and need comfort/someone who make them have fun without caring if it may be embarrassing) I swear there were moments I loved so much what he said or did that I just really wanted to hug him and that's it. I wanted to stay like that, like when dancing he said something and I really wanted to just hug him and never let him go XD

It was funny watching my MC and Darek trying to blend in at the other party and it was cool to see his family. It was cooling getting another glimpse at Baxter (and looking forward to that reference added when we meet him in step 3). Though Nicolas might be our biggest competitor for Derek's affection lol!

2022-03-14 22:29:27 +0000 UTCMy after-play thoughts: Derek is such a gentleman, omg. My gay heart could barely handle it, he's so polite on our date! It seemed a lot more lighthearted compared to the date with Cove, but I could still sense something a bit up with Derek. He seems to me that he's someone who gives all of himself but rarely ever thinks about his own feelings. (Which is pretty relatable.) It was a pain to not be able to ask both Cove and Derek to the Soiree because I think they're both cute as hell, but Cove is still a great friend. I wonder how he'll be reacting to us getting together with Derek? Overall, great work so far and can't wait for more!
