Myla, It is probably pulling from the base game like a DLC should. But as the Beta, it will need to pull files from the beta folder instead. If you have Steam, then try exiting Steam first (or logging off will do it too and then don't log back in if prompted). If that doesn't work, try installing the Beta on another device. If that doesn't work, let me know what device you're using. I may be able to help you troubleshoot.

if it helps your character is not "friendzoning" cove. cove is ace (demisexual is on the ace spectrim) he will not have those kind of feelings for your characters are just friends. that's why he doesn't get all shy or blushy around your character.

yeah mines are still locked. i don't know how to open them up. i mean i unzipped the file and it won't open up for me. idk if i'm suppose to move files into the main game file or not. i didn't have this issue with any of the cove beta files so i'm don't know what i'm doing wrong.

I'm having the same issue but with step 4 because it only chooses cove instead of Derek. I've already done Derek's step 2 and pick the kept in contact with him but it's still not showing what should i do

I'm 100% in for the +18 Stand Alone Moment for Derek. Unless the MC turns him down (probably the very last thing I'm going to try in the beta, lol) they're future spouses, dating to see if they're compatible, so I think a special night of intimacy would definitely be a compatibility testing exercise 😉 (I'm so curious how different Derek would be from shy, demisexual Cove, y'know?)

I feel so silly but how do you get Derek’s step 2 moments ? I can choose how to feel about him in the beginning of the step but the rest of it is like regular. Am I missing something obvious ?

I feel like their are too few comments appreciating the work you did on this, so I will 😭 This literally had me TEARING UP. It's so good! And all the LI's are so relatable. I found that I could relate to Cove and Derek, which is kind of insane to me because I've never read a visual novel wherein I could equally resonate with more than one love interest. I'm literally speechless right now. Like I was when I first played Cove's Step Four story. This is just as good if not better imo. I would love to give you details about aspects I loved, but there's literally so much to cover so ig this is gonna be like Cove's DLC where I can't really review it for weeks and just keep replaying until I grow sick of it lmao

Silly Question in step 4 in park, if you havent confessed your feelings earlier he states that he loves you. Then later goes to confess his feelings, but decides not to. Was that intentional?

I just finished it and I need more! How much do I have to pay you to make a wedding and 18+ vignette for Derek? Lol I’m honestly loving the way you wrote him here. He feels distinct to Cove, but also just as real. I just want more and more sweet moments with him 🥰

The dev said in the important notes "In order to get Derek's Step 4 content you have to play all his Step 2 Moments and keep in touch with him during Step 3". So, maybe you haven't payed all the step 2 moments yet? Hope this helps =)

For people having issues in the comments, make sure you uninstalled any older versions of the game you downloaded! That seems to be the problem for most people.

I just re-loaded the character creation and the Derek option triggered after the Cove creation. It took me about 3 times re-loading the save. Happy to finally get it though! Thanks for letting me know about it, I would have been bummed if I never figured it out. :)

I just replayed through step 1 to get to step 2 and it doesn't give me the option to choose how to feel about Derek. It goes to the character creation screen, then to how we feel about Cove, then to Cove creation. Is there another step I need to do previously?

So I replayed from the beginning and I seem to be having issues triggering Derek as a partner for the Soiree in the second page. It keeps giving me "It was too bad you didn't have anyone specific in mind for your imaginary romance." and when I move on to the next scenes, it's only scenes with Cove. Definitely using the second page for year 2, and I've chosen a lot of the "crush" options (holding hands frequently, calling him cute, so on) so not sure why this is happening. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm glad you were enjoying it! You can ask Derek to be your boyfriend in the first afternoon you arrive, before you've seen anyone else like you could in the Cove story. Maybe it didn't come up in your playthrough somehow, though.

Let me preface this by saying how much I love Our Life. But if the statement that this beta contains "A large portion of Derek Step 4 content" is true I'm worried that I'm going to be disappointed in the end by Derek's route. Not because it's badly done, it's been amazing thus far, but because we don't seem to be going to get much time with Derek and the MC as an actual couple. I've loved getting to know Derek better, but Cove got, potentially, both all of Step 3 and Step 4 (plus the wedding) where you could be in a relationship if that's what you wanted, where as with Derek we are already a large portion into Step 4 and there has still been no option to actually be in a relationship. Once again, still loving what we are getting, I just would also love to see how MC and Derek actually work in a relationship together and I'm starting to think we won't get a lot of time to explore that.
