You're very correct there, Qiu. Things are changing around Golden Grove and GB Patch Games. This beta brings us to the long awaited conclusion of the Step 1 prologue! Hooray 🥳️. It's taken absolutely ages to get to this point, haha. But going forward OL2 will be getting much more frequent updates. It's exciting.
Another change is that now there's a suggestions thread for those on the Influencer tier! It applies to this latest beta. You can check that out HERE. Now here are the download links.
And since we've had some problems in the past with so many people downloading beta builds that they get locked out by Google Drive, I've uploaded mirror builds! If the first ones listed don't work, you can try these.
Also, you can bypass the quota by logging in to a Google Drive account, then on the file's download page, click "Add shortcut to Drive" in the upper right corner. Save it to your Drive, then create a new folder, put it inside, and download the folder!
Important Notes:
- Saves from prior builds may not be loadable in this beta
- This will be the final beta available at the Fans tier. Every beta after this will be at the Insiders tier and up. This beta won't be removed from the Fans tier, however. It'll be considered an extended demo and kept as a bonus reward for those on the Fans tier until the content is released publicly to everyone.
New Content:
- 18,000 words of new scenes
- New locations, a new music track, and a new CG were implemented
- MC's room decorating system is in place
- A leaf falling animation appears in the deep forest
- Small fixes to typos/errors from the prior build
Thank you for all the patience as OL: N&F slowly came along in between our work on Our Life: B&A. I hope you'll enjoy how the prologue resolves, and that you'll look forward to getting into the heart of the story later. I'm certainly ready to put a lot more time into in developing this game. We're gonna do our best 💖!

I finally downloaded to try it out and oh my GOSH everyone is just so darling!!! Tamarack is such an absolute sweetheart and Qiu is very entertaining. I cant wait for the full game to release!!!

Not autistic myself/can't speak to it, but it was so affirming to see the use of 'thumbs up', for ex., since I just did not love interaction as a child - or had too MUCH to say and too little to express it. Especially hope it becomes a thing between steps/ROs: I would meeelt seeing Tam giving a thumbs up before a big recital or something to check how my MC is doing and vice versa.

I found the ending of it strangely nice with the sad and relaxing tone at the end, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it when and if it does come around. And the long awaited (at least for me) room decorating part was way better than expected! The little poofs made it really cute and flowed with the clicking of the choices and atmosphere! I can't wait to decorate our future rooms in the next steps. Seeing the diner table for the first time and the CG of both Qiu and Tamarack was wonderful, they are as cute as ever. And we finally met Mr. Yusuf! Kind of wish we could've seen his sprite but it was still great meeting him. It was nice finding out their drink preferences and I'm also excited to see how their comfort drinks will play into it later on (if that's still on board from the planning stages a while back ofc)! I loved every bit of new content! Y'all did a wonderful job again like as always!

You can try turning off the animations to make the game easier to run or see if there's a driver or graphics card that needs updating on your device! The engine we use is very sensitive to that kind of thing, aha. Glad you like it!

One little inconsistency I had was my MC thinking "More like your neighbhors were lucky! They got to live next to you." (after the decorating part) - my MC is very shy, reserved and pretty insecure, so that thought came sort of out of nowhere in this case.

Also, the song track "lovely" on the piano is now and definitely my favorite of all. I can't explain in words how it made me feel. I was physically and emotionally happy, peaceful and comfortable, as if nothing could get to me. This melody was so sweet, so beautiful, so… lovely. like, I'm still crying. I can't even imagine what it will be like when the full game comes out, but what I'm sure is that it will forever be my favorite comfort game and I'll keep it all my life.

I'm specifically thinking of the MC being able to be jealous or covetous of Qiu's affection and feeling insecure when gives attention to others. It's not something that is often talked about in this sort of context, and its not a "pretty" feeling to have, but I think everyone has felt that way about someone at least once in their life, to varying degrees. I really hope if that's the way the player chooses to go there is a future scene to help them resolve those feelings in a healthy way.

I also noticed that during the scene where we go to the backyard and collect treasures with Tamarack, the music stops. I could still hear the sound effects. Was it intended? I enjoyed the scene even without music and it felt peaceful, but I was curious.

When I was little my parents divorced and my sister and I moved with our mother from Texas to North Carolina, on to a little cul-de-sac in a small town. From a town with little changes from season to season to a place with real fall :). Of course there’s a lot of differences with my story and this one but it made me smile thinking about the little things in this story I can relate to<3
