Month End Post: April 2023 Wrap-Up

Well hello, everybody!

We've made it to the end of another month. Hallelujah, as Baxter would say. And after what a month April has been, I've gotta take a little break from the games, haha. I'm taking today, as well as the next few days, almost entirely off (I've pre-scheduled this post to appear). But I'll go over more of that in the May plans post.

For now, let's break down the wild events of the past weeks-

Monthly Content Summary:

For once I didn't do any drafting, outside a tiny 400 word expansion of a scene. In terms of actual writing, I put down 25,500 words. And I edited 41,285 words of scripts sent in by the other writers. They finished their last drafts, so all of that completed Baxter's DLC script! One of multiple fantastic accomplishments that happened recently. I also managed to do some extra editing of around 8,150 words for planned future content, which was great.

When it came to programming, approximately 100,000 words were implemented. The vast majority was for Baxter's DLC, but I did program one OL2 script section. Some of those words only needed me to add images/music and the base text/flags/points were already implemented by other team members. And some of the chunks required me to do the base and the visuals/audio. Basically, it was an absolutely absurd amount of progress that will likely never repeat.

However, all that effort allowed us to release a beta build of Baxter's full storyline, plus a beta for OL2 with the entire Step 1 prologue.

Not only that, but the 'Coming Soon' page for Baxter's DLC went live on Steam and Itch, we announced the new VAs for Baxter's DLC, and I implemented some updates to the Patreon reward system this month.

Look at that word count, look at that list of important links. I have no idea how it all got done, but we did it 🎉. May will absolutely not be as productive as April was and I'm gonna guess it'll be less development than even a normal month, to balance things out. I'll lay out what exactly I hope will get done in tomorrow's update.
