Added 2023-08-17 18:00:06 +0000 UTCOh my God, we did it. Here is a full beta of the final Our Life: Beginnings & Always story 😭. I don't even know what to think about that, so I'll simply get into the explanation of how it works.
The story has no voice acting intentionally and is an entirely separate build from the main game. On PC and Mac you can load in a save file from the main game to bring all your information over into the Patreon story. The Android version doesn't let you load in a save file from the main game. There's not a way to do it on that system.
If you don't want to load a save or can't load a save, there's a questionnaire at the start of the Moment where you can fill in all the important details of your life.
When it comes to how the story progresses, there's multiple points in which you can start the interactive makeout/sex scene. If you want to get into it as soon as you walk through the hotel door, you can- and the relaxing scenes can happen after. If you want to rest for a while and then have some romance, you can do that too. It's only once you've changed into pjs that you've gone past the point of moving into the intimate scenes.
Things to Note:
This beta has a ton of small alterations in terms of when you did certain things, what you do and don't have, what Cove is meant to be wearing, and such. I'm sure there will be some other imperfections in the beta and incorrect continuities popping up. You're welcome to leave a comment to report any issues. But if you come across an error report screen, you can click the ignore button to keep playing! It doesn't mean the build has crashed entirely.
Also, Cove's tattoos don't appear in the second of the CGs. Those will be added in the complete version of the event as well.

I had the above mentioned issue with a male top using a strap-on, and then when they switched positions it became clear that MC’s genitals changed overall. My Cove also had the wedding lei on throughout the experience which was pretty funny! I didn’t actually finish the scene after the strap-on bug but everything before that was super cute. Great job!

T__T It's kind of perfect since I have a long weekend, and replaying Our Life had always been a good read to me. I'm so excited to play the beta after my replay (currently) on Cove's Wedding DLC. Hoping to get the official release before the last day of August. Welp, this is my second month of subscribing around nearly end of the month. ( T∀T) But for Cove, it's worth it.

I assumed because there were so many other questions about the moment that that would be one as well. Still had an amazing time playing though, just a small detail i noticed.

I haven't played any other scenarios out yet so im not sure if it'll crash at any other point.

I seem to be struggling- my background keeps flashing rapidly from the pictures to black and back again repeatedly, especially when mousing over the choices on the screen but occasionally doing so even when my mouse is on the background and still. Trying to ignore it isn't working very well, maybe I downloaded it wrong or something? EDIT: Redownloading didn't seem to change anything which is unfortunate.

After having a bath and massage, doing the horizontal shuffle and going to take a second bath, Cove appears in the bathroom in full wedding gear again and has the exact same conversation about the folding of the clothes and what to do with them in the future. The black lingerie scene goes to the main menu, I didn't try with the white (not a big fan of the aesthetic personally). Despite choosing male parts as FtM, as another mentioned, it talks about having a strap on. The first time I played through I wanted to have dual massages before getting into it, but then all of a sudden we were in our pjs. Not a big deal because I honestly imagine being too worn out to do much after a wedding, I figure I'd personally rather crash, but it was a little unexpected to sleep right after the massages.

More because I assumed that as FtM the lower parts operation happened by default but I was a bit surprised to see it said strapon despite I put all the male options even if FtM.

2023-08-21 22:20:12 +0000 UTC1st of all I LOVED IT but I couldn't reach an ending because it kept looping after we finished "doing the do" he would say something like we shouldn't have bathed first and would loop back to going into the bathroom for the first time and his clothes would be back on and it starts over.. not sure if that's something I did but I tried using different options to break the loop but it did it 3 times for me before I gave up. Wasn't able to reach the end at all :(

One more thing, if I may: If MC chooses to wear lingerie, there's bit where if you do bathroom scene first, Cove loses it(in a good way) and MC says it's a shame he had to see it that way. This also happens if you go straight for sexy times/stripping from wedding clothes - is that intentional? I would think that would be the Best way to reveal what's under the wrapper!

If my future partner isn't that sappy and nostalgic, I don't want them haha. That being said, I wanted to report a couple of bugs I found. 1. Any time I'm starting on the intimate moment, when it gives you options for preparation and such, if I choose to have Cove be the only one to try lingerie, the moment he starts hyping himself up to put it on, the scene abruptly ends and cuts right to the main menu. This happens whether the 18+ moment starts the second we get in the hotel room, or if we do some relaxing stuff first and then get into it. However, if the MC also chooses to have lingerie prepared, then the moment continues as normal (though the lingerie for MC option only appeared in the prep menu if you get intimate the second you get to the hotel room; it was missing from the prep menu when relaxing was done first before intimacy). 2. I noticed a typo during the bathing together scene. When Cove is getting undressed, it describes him as taking off his white pants, even when his wedding outfit had black pants. 3. Getting to the actual 18+ content, while doing foreplay, when the more intense kissing option was chosen, it would make a note of how close Cove and the MC are with very little fabric separating them. This line would pop up even after both stripped (either their towels from bathing, or lingerie). Just a little inconsistency. I really can't thank yall enough for creating this wonderful life for us! Our Life continues to be my absolute favorite visual novel, and I really appreciate all the work put into this game. I wasn't here when the first game was being developed, but I'm beyond excited to be here for Now and Forever's development! <3

There have just been a couple of buggy moments. 1. When using the strap-on during the 18+ moment, there is an option that says "you wouldn't be able to climax this way, but you can get Cove there", but after I selected it, my MC seemed to "finish" anyways, haha. Idk if that's a bug or not, but I figured I should point out. 1. In one playthrough, I did the bath and massage first, then I did the 18+ content. After, it gave me the option to take a bath once more, and Cove appeared in the restroom in his full wedding attire again. I'm assuming it must have been caught in a loop somehow. 3. On one playthrough, my MC and Cove did the deed without a condom, but after, the game mentioned disposing of one as if one had been used. 4. I noticed a typo, where it mentions the MC makes a "choaked" noise instead of a "choked" noise.

There were plenty of times during Wedding Night when Cove/MC recalled memories, so it didn't seem to be an issue? The questions were on kids with Cove and honeymoon; height/weight/body type were all saved. Assuming the rest on sexual content consent/what's under wedding attire, etc. were questions everyone had to answer before playing. Using Mac version, btw.

I've just noticed two things (haven't played every option there is but these are just the ones I've noticed) 1. Male character assigned male at birth but if he is 'giving' then he still puts a strap on (I did notice someone else commented this one as well) 2. If male MC is receiving on his back, the dialogue during the moment implies he's facing the other way. Aside from those two things, this is a beautiful piece of work! I especially appreciated all the tiny details brought in from the game itself, it's wonderful.

Had a similar issue to nana yeah with importing Wedding DLC save: It didn't take me to an error page, but prologue bit said it wasn't able to read all the content, despite the save being right before the wedding ended. I had to answer a few questions to compensate. Not the end of the world by any means, but thought I should mention. :)

(Also these are off the top of my head, I hope it's okay to come back to this post if I encounter more issues to report them!) 1. I specifically said we started dating between steps 2 and 3, but, when the bathroom scene references Cove stripping down to swim in the ocean in the base game step 4 prologue, it says "you two hadn't even started dating at that point!". I went back and made 100% sure I chose the right option (started dating between steps 2 and 3), but still got the same textbox implying we weren't dating in step 4. I didn't notice any other inconsistencies like this though! 2. I saw someone else bring this up, but I have some details to add in case it's helpful: my game crashed after giving Cove his lingerie, but only if I did the bathroom and massage scenes before the 18+ content. If I skipped those and went right to the 18+ content upon entering the hotel room, my game didn't crash 3. If I did the bathroom and massage scenes, I wasn't given the option to wear lingerie. The part where MC is thinking about any preparations they made gives me every option except the lingerie. If I didn't do the bathroom and massage scenes, and went right to the 18+ content upon entering the hotel room, I was given the option to wear lingerie. I don't know if this was on purpose, but I assume not? 4. For the scene watching the sunrise, if Cove has the fancy/undone hairstyle, there's a decently large chunk of green (the same shade as his hair) sticking out from his portrait in the upper-right corner. This doesn't happen when I have my standard Cove with a bun 5. If I have the option to take a bath after the 18+ content, when entering the bathroom, Cove has his wedding clothes back on and it seems that the game thinks I haven't done the 18+ content 6. This may be on purpose, but I know you've said we can do the other romantic scenes after the 18+ content if we want. I'm unclear if this means we have the option to do the bathroom and massage scenes after the 18+ moment, but if that's intended, I'm unable to. If I skip those scenes, after the 18+ content, I can either go to bed or stay up with Cove, but not get the bathroom or massage scene. Again, I don't know if I'm just misunderstanding what you meant, but I thought I'd bring it up in case I'm not and not being able to do those things is unintentional!

Also lots of incoherences and spelling errors: "He chirped in response, the two of US acting like the 'lovebirds' Baxter had pegged you as from the beginning." "An unmistakable moan fell from of (I think there's no "OF" here) your mouth, your body's natural reaction to what your husband was doing." "Your mouth and nose were filled with the gained scent OF Cove: the salt of his pores, the pleasant fragrance he'd used specially for your wedding." How can "you felt a droplet trickle down the back of your neck" when you're doing it face to face!? "You understood one another's fears and weaknesses better THAN anyone else." "Once you'd taken care of wiping each other down, and disposing of the condom," I haven't opened a condom for Cove to do me so there shouldn't be any condom to dispose of. "Cove promptly open (one "OPEN" more that shouldn't be here) tore open the packet himself, though the foil refused to break off cleanly." The base of the toy rubbed up against you where it attached to the harness;" --> no strap-on for me (I haven't chosen that accessory and I am a fully graced male with masculine attributes lol) The harness slipped from the sweat coating your thighs; the base of the toy rubbing against you in just the right way" no harness in my choices. "Gripping one of his THIGHS (not thigs), you reached down with the other hand and caught it in your fist, lavishing affection on his cock" "And then, with a gasp, Cove's climax hit. It keeps switching between the two description without making sense whether you chose one or the other. What's more, when you decide to have each other sideways and then keep on going with love making, the entire scenes starting from the shower, to put on pj's, to cuddle in bed, to reminisce about the past formal events we went to, to plan to wake up to see the sun rise, all of those scenes were totally skipped from my run even if at the end I wore PJ without putting them on and watched the sun rise without telling you were going to do it beforehand. That's a shame cause those scenes were cute and would need to be added to even the sex part and cuddling part.

I tried going for both options and both have the same ending. Not sure what's going wrong with it but figured you might want to know. Works fine when I don't give him the lingerie though!

It's not an issue, my MC had mentioned in the main game she wanted kids so I assumed it was just taking from that but just letting you know encase it's meant to flag for both Cove's?

My only two issues are the ones that have come up before (ie my character thinks he's wearing a strap on when he's not, and it seems very prone to looping the entire hotel room content which is funny, but presumably not intended since Cove puts on all his wedding clothes again) Other than that it's pretty great as a conclusion

Went out, had a nice walk, my brother got me starbucks, actually made an effort to dress nicely and complemented. Did a few more things exercised like I should and was going to sleep. Then this happens I genuinely think this has been the nicest day I had have in a years. Like nothing bad happened at all. Got to come home to the full bate waiting for me. Thank you for that! <3 Speaking of the bate, some things. Didn't have the whole thing with giving Cove his lingerie since I picked the black one (I'm a goth, I love a man in black! <3 <3 <3) or had the whole his wearing black pants even is he was meant to have white pants one (I used one of my save file from the main game and had his pick his suit color which was the full white outfit). The first round of sexy time was fine (And super fun and hot!!!) but the second round have me, magically, having a toy on which I never picked it in the first place. But I want with it just to see how Cove would react to it and my gosh.... I never been so turn on! *Bite side of lower lip.* Pretty much spend the whole wedding night having fun together, so never got to do the bathroom part of the game. I'm not sure if that was how it was meant to be or not. Somehow, Cove, magically again (Is this is uncle doing....? LOL), just appear wearing his PJs with no mention of him putting it on after our fun night together. Last thing, once I was fully done with the moment, the game starting up again somewhere before we first starting to have fun together and he not wearing his wedding suit. He showed up in his PJs. I want back and end the game again, start back to before round one but he not wearing anything! Not even the black lingerie. He looked like a Ken doll! LMAF!! Beside those few bugs, love, Love, LOVE!!! this last, sexy time moment with My Not So Little Merhusband. Thank you and your team so, so much for this last time with Cove. You all have no idea how much this game and Cove himself mean to me. I'm going to miss him dearly from the bottom of my blacken, broken heart... Here's hopefully he would appear in up coming games from time to time, like Jeremy and Shiloh appeared in OL1 and Pran meant appear in OL2.

2023-08-18 02:23:07 +0000 UTCLoving this sooo much and ive caught a few small text mistakes and a bug with the lingerie, as it kicks you back to main screen before he puts it on, and saying he has white pants even though I choose him to have black. A few bugs in intimate scenes like if I choose no condom for cove, the cleaning up after would involve disposing of one. If mc would have a male genital, the text would flat out say you were using a strap four(?) times, and if this was intentional, it would be nice to be able to use your own gential as a male rather than a strap! At the end, If you choose to take a bath with cove, and if you also did at the start, it would almost sound like you never did, along with his wedding clothes magically reappearing. Those are the ones i currently remember because they had me a little bewildered, but nonetheless the work is amazing! Cant wait for the finished product!

It would go through the nsfw scene without trouble but at the end cove would mention a bath and no matter what I chose they're back in the bathroom, cove in wedding attire, and have to do the bit again. Otherwise, I loved it. 😭 I can't believe this is the end.

Gonna try some different choices as a workaround but figured I'd mention it. edit: no matter the lingerie I choose or any following choices, it sends me back to the main menu. My character wore pants and shirt and later Cove said None outfit (sorry don't remember his exact line but he said None when talking about my mc's clothes.) I also had the shower repeat scene and the back to menu when choosing to give Cove lingerie like others mentioned. I enjoyed the game very much though and I'm glad I got to know Covey all these years.

There was also one moment when Cove said something like "This is easier to get out of than None wedding clothes" which I assume is an accidentally undefined variable or something

Another one I found was when I chose the biological male option (protruding length, if you will) and around the time when Cove decided to bottom first, the dialogue switched to having a strap-on. I had a blast with the beta, though, and look forward to the final product!

But other than minor issues that I'm sure will be ironed out (as the post mentioned) I stumbled across two larger issues- one is that trying to give Cove lingerie results in a return to the main menu, I was only able to progress with the standard boxers. And more amusing is that I seem to have ended up in a time loop. Bath, then sex, then post-sex bath suddenly turned into pre-sex bath with Cove removing his wedding outfit again, and then sex again, then... well, unfortunately even the best wedding nights don't come with an infinite time loop, but it's a funny issue that Cove's does! I usually play Cove as a bestie rather than a partner but it's been really lovely to see the warm and intimate ending of his story as a partner. Thank you. <3
