Our Life: Derek Suárez (Side Character #3, Step 2)
Added 2018-11-16 02:44:40 +0000 UTCWith a new Step comes new faces! This is Derek. His dad works with Cove's dad and he's become acquainted with both Cove and the MC because of that.
He’s definitely a team player and doesn’t try to boss others around or have everything be his way. A compromise is a wonderful thing, as his parents would say. He’s overall quite honest, though still socially aware. He is willing to soften the edges of the truth if it’ll make a situation better or avoid hurting someone’s feelings.
When anything goes wrong or someone isn’t happy, his first instinct is to try to find a way to fix it. He tries not to get bogged down with negative feelings like being worried or disappointed. If something good happens, Derek is very happy about it. Even a small thing is the best ever.
Derek feels inadequate compared to Cove because he’s so much smaller. It sometimes gets even him down. Every now and then Derek tries to prove himself/overcompensate for what he feels are shortcomings.
Derek is bilingual, knowing English and Spanish. He usually only speaks Spanish with his family, however. He doesn't often try explaining it to others.
He is a friendly side character in Step 2 and is gone by Step 3. Tragic. Though you can get to meet him again many years later in Step 4, depending on your choices.
We may also even give Derek is own DLC romance storyline. For now, he's just your pal.
