Secret Project (R): Side Character #4 (Sketch)

So that sure is an interesting image, haha. It's the snake in different skins. When it came to making a sequel, Shiloh was a thorn in our sides. The issue was that presenting any sort of single, consistent version of his future self goes against what his character is. But luckily, every route is kind of its own little separate alternate universe where things are different. People’s lives, relationships, and even how they act in some cases will change based on what happened in high school/the years afterwards. This isn’t a story where you start at a non-changing beginning and things branch out from there. XOXO Reunion has been a long time coming with lots of twists/turns that might or might not have already happened. 

Which means, each of the five routes have a completely unique Shiloh that’s a useful foil to LI of route! His varying identities are based on some of the many different ways Shiho can be interpreted.

If there are five routes and five different Shilohs, why only four designs? It's because one version of Shiloh is such an asshole that he doesn't even show up, haha. Now here's a quick break down of the different Shiloh personas. Each one has a nickname to make it easier to talk about them. From left to right.

Version #1, Nickname "Shiloh": This one is pretty much just Shiloh from the OG XOD, but five years older. At least in surface level behavior. Maybe underneath all the chipperness he's matured some, or maybe not. He appears in Jeremy's route.

Version #2, Nickname "Mr. Fields": This Shiloh is unexpectedly normal and just generally polite/nice, without being overbearing. He claims to feel bad for how things went down in the past and he'd like to make a fresh start. He appears in Nate's route.

Version #3, Nickname "Shi":  This Shiloh is a jackass and doesn't really care if you know. He's famous online and has graduated far beyond manipulating people individually face-face. As long as he can string along his loyal fanbase into not believe anything bad that they hear, he can do whatever he wants. This Shiloh appears in the Pran route.

Version #4, Nickname "Leon":  Leon is Shiloh's middle name and it's what this Shiloh insists on being called nowadays. Leon admits that he never cared for anyone, he was only using people. But he had an epiphany that there's nothing he really wants or needs anymore and hates the empty meaningless exchanges/relationships he has. Leon is a bitter, cynical, and honest guy who is choosing isolate himself from everyone and the world at large. This Shiloh appears in the Bae route. 

Version #5, Nickname "N/A": This is the Shiloh who doesn't come to the reunion and can't be contacted. He makes his non-appearance in the Everett route.
