2025-01-09 22:01:40 +0000 UTCThis took place in 5th grade: At my middle school, every year all classes would go on a field trip to an apple picking farm/pumpkin patch at the beginning of the school year. Fast forward, we finish picking our pumpkin and apples and are served apple cider and apple cider donuts. I start drinking my cider and a bee starts lurking near me so I stay absolutely still because that’s what you’re supposed to do. Tell me why it decides to hijack my cider AND a piece of my donut 😞 and then there was also the part in the trip where everyone (including the adults) got lost in the corn maze 😭😭

2025-01-09 20:15:31 +0000 UTCneat, i did one of these when i was a kid, school sponsored and all. In hindsight it was nothing really that crazy, but to a preteen mind it was all so fresh and new. A mundane experience viewed through the lens of childlike wonder made it fun at the time.

Also, a fossil site sounds like an amazing field trip :) Sadly, my schools weren't into field trips when I was younger. I only had one and it was for my senior class. I got so excited to go on a field trip for the first time that I got a nosebleed the day of 🤣

One time on a field trip to a bog (Irish bogs are basically gooier fossil preservation sites lol) while my class was riding in a truck, I started to clap my hands and slap them on my thighs while singing we will rock you by queen. The whole class joined in and it is still my proudest moment. Unfortunately I didn’t remember the verses to we will rock you and neither it seemed did anyone else so we just chanted the chorus the whole time until we got there
