Month End Post: July 2025 Wrap-Up

The last day of July is here, and August is knocking on our door! (It’s asking if you want to have a tea party. Also if you have any milk and honey. For…no reason at all. 👀)

Monthly Content Summary

We kicked off July with Beta Build 1.4.18! It includes the entire first step of Our Life: Now & Forever. The kids are growing up (sad 😔) …and entering a whole new chapter (happy 🥰)! 

On the 8th, we celebrated National Video Game Day! GB Patch players from all over the world shared their favorite Our Life-esque titles, and now our Steam wishlists are in critical condition. Here’s just one of the many community-fueled threads. 

We also dropped two new sneak peek videos this month!

• “Colorful Class” (Step 1 DLC Moment) where you and Tamarack share a sweet convo and the word “crush” is thrown around a few times. 👀

• “Fancy Fun” (Step 1 Moment) featuring you and Qiu in the midst of a ballet class. It is truly as adorable as it sounds.

And now, for some exciting transparency news.

Going forward, we’ll be sharing the Patreon Q&As with the public! Patrons will still get the early access and they will remain the only party that can submit questions. But the answers, including lore and character reveals, will become available to all players. We’ll link to the public version in future Month Start blogs. We hope this opens the door to even more community conversations (and perhaps a few conspiracy theories). ☺️

With that, let’s dive into this month’s behind-the-scenes progress!

Script Progress

This was a big month for writing. GB is very happy to report that she has finished the script for one of the Step 2 linked Moments! She’s also completed half of the linked scenes that can take place in either of the linked Moments, depending on the choices you make. Plus, the draft for the second linked Moment is officially done! ✨

Programming Progress

Development on the Step 2 prologue continues. Even more work was done on these scenes across July, and they continue to evolve all the time. 

Additionally, several new character voice lines arrived. The kids are coming to life more and more each month, and we can’t wait to share a few sneak peeks with you down the line.

Art Progress

July’s art highlights include several background alterations. These updates take already existing backgrounds and adjust them for different times of day, types of weather, holidays, and so on. 

And that’s not all! A few brand new locations for Step 2 were created! 🎉

August is almost here, and we’re already brewing up more content, sneak peeks, and sunny surprises. Whether you’ve been with us since our symbolic Step 1, or just stumbled into Golden Grove recently, thank you for being part of our world.
