So, I cannot relate to a lot of this as I went pretty fast down the gender pipeline myself. What I can relate to though is bad parents. We are not beholden to them, as much as a part of us almost has to love them for some reason, that inkling within that will always love them in some small unfortunate way, we never have to be ok with what they've done to us. Love and Loathing can exist equidistant to one another. Do not forget, do not forgive, but remember that the best vengeance is to live well. Be joyous and let the people who have hurt you know that they have no right to partake in that joy. Show them your brightest smile and let them burn in it.

If people have self-discoveries through R:D, because they feel it resonates, it's not like you forcefully cracked them and dragged them out into the kind of limbo you seemed to live in. So I hope you can try not to think too negatively about your own work. And yes, I didn't figure out that enter posts my writing instead of making a line break.
