Face up tips&tricks | Patreon exclusive video

Check out this in depth face up video, where I talk about painting faces and things around this topic for 20 minutes. Workflow, materials, tips on applying pastels and paints, and all the stuff I thought you might find useful to start repainting dolls but also make your face ups better. I know there's a lot of very specific tips in this video but this is what I miss in regular yt doll customizing videos.

I'm sure there are different techniques out there that I didn't cover but this is how I make my dolls. If you have more questions don't hesitate to send me a chat message or comment here! We'll try to find a solution, alternative materials or think of interesting ideas.

Yesss! Perfect timing (as Iโ€™m sure you know!! ๐Ÿ’•)

Thanks for the Inktense tip! I have only white, black and a few browns and never thought about the opaqueness of the rest! I had Koh-i-nor Mondeluz before and the pigment was okay but they were so soft that I couldn't make more than a few sharp lines. So there was A LOT of sharpening and it was pretty annoying ๐Ÿ˜… I haven't try Derwent Watercolor, next time I'll be in an art supply shop I'll grab a few to try ๐Ÿ˜

It was a great video and it's interesting how different (and sometimes similar) my process is! One quick thing - I love Inktense pencils, but if you run out of pastel-quite-opaque watercolor pencil colors, there is no Inktense pencils that work that way. I love them, like I said, but they are like inks, so have this "multiply photoshop layer" effect. White one is exeption. So for light blue, cream, pastel pink etc I would go with Derwent Watercolor or KOH-I_NOOR.

Haha yes! She's the Queen of Cheekbones! ๐Ÿ˜

She came out so cute! I havenโ€™t tried to do a faceup in a minute but this makes me want to wipe the face off of my new G3 Spectra (Spectra has objectively best cheekbones).

The Barbie Witch

Waiting to see it ๐Ÿฅฐ
