Interesting points, and while you still have a long wait, it does come back up eventually.

2025-01-08 14:59:55 +0000 UTCIt's something I don't go into in great detail at the time (but do explain a bit more further down the line) but Tate really was just very disturbed and dealing with a full mental break. He was there because in his mind he needed to help Josh, but he had gone about it completely the wrong way and, in the state he was in, was a real danger to Josh and everyone else he came across. An armed man in his mental state, regardless of good intentions, is very dangerous. It was actually inspired by one of my real-life experiences, in which I dealt with a gentleman who was convinced he was saving a building full of people, but due to his mental health conditions, was actually putting them in great danger. In his mind, he was doing the right thing and being the hero, but in reality he was causing a lot of harm. Tate was very much like that.

2025-01-08 14:59:27 +0000 UTCI’ve wondered the same thing.

2024-12-31 18:32:24 +0000 UTCNicky's mentee is Jorge Diaz. I don't think we've heard much of anything about Jorge.

2024-12-31 14:30:47 +0000 UTCHonestly, I still have one question. Tate held Josh and Mark hostage, true. However, Tate came because he thought he could be the donator for Josh. He came trying to *save* Josh's life. Why Mark (or everyone?) thought it's a "either Tate die or Josh die" situation? (Or Mark hasn't figured this out yet? But thinking in this way might make Mark even more... miserable.)

2024-12-30 12:40:09 +0000 UTCLocket not anyone mentioned heretofore? Hmmm. Now that is VERY interesting. I'm going to guess Nicky's mentee (which one is he?). That could prove to be both fun and mindblowing for Nicky.

2024-12-29 06:11:14 +0000 UTCI suppose it is time again to remind everyone that we still have learned nothing about the failed Year 10 prank on the Year 7s, and how it was discovered. If it's true that the Year 7s have a big storyline coming up, perhaps it will involve the attempted prank and what went wrong. Should we be suspicious of Year 7s who have older brothers in Year 10?

2024-12-28 21:36:42 +0000 UTCCommenters rule! At least occasionally. So Chris isn't Locky -- but who is?

2024-12-28 15:45:56 +0000 UTC@Deneb - I was just thinking the same thing about mentees. Avery, for example. Maybe he will prove to provide some piece of the puzzle for Danny's battle against depression.

2024-12-28 15:44:59 +0000 UTC@Rich - Yeah, this was a big chapter for Mikey and I admit to getting a little emotional in that final scene. It may read to a lot of people as something fairly minor, but it's the sort of thing that has a grivitas people who haven't been there may not truly grasp. I really hope I did it justice. A big step for Danny too, and don't worry, there will be more with his King Edwards counterpart. The slow burn for Josh and Mark is definitely a little tortusous, but I hope it's at least believable about why they're holding back so much. Both boys have been hurt so much in so many ways. Interesting theory about Locky, definitely not names anyone else has suggested so far! @Deneb - It's nice to have chapters like this that start clearing out some of the issues. As for The Lads, once again they sadly have to remain in the background as there just isn't room to show more of them. They have a big storyline coming up, but for now the main story will have to remain on the older boys.

2024-12-28 04:07:15 +0000 UTCI can only agree with everything… This chapter is a big step towards solving many long-lingering issues! As for Locky's identity I rather tend towards Grey (or Adrian). Still missing reading a bit about their mentoring duties for the 'lads'…

2024-12-27 20:59:50 +0000 UTCI think the past two chapters confirm to me that Grey is Locky! Grey must have felt terrible that Nicky "Loved" Chris!

2024-12-27 20:39:00 +0000 UTCGreat chapter, especially for Mikey! Being asked out (which I hope will give him more confidence), opening up to the whole group about his diagnosis, and starting to take his meds - this was so lovely. A breakthrough with Rob and Milo's relationship may have happened, Danny took what I think was a big step with his conversation with Mr. Rudd, David and James have had the air cleared between them, and Nicky can stop worrying about Chris being Locky. Mark and Josh continue to grow closer (although the slow burn is killing me.) I do hope that we'll get to see Danny with the captain from King Edward's - their bromance is hot already; I can only imagine how much fun the two would have together. A thought occurred to me while reading today - what if Brian or Joseph is Locky? While I still believe they belong together, both are certainly caring enough to fit Locky.
