2025-01-28 21:22:01 +0000 UTCFrom time to time Chris strongly reminds me of Ron Weasley's character in the Harry Potter movies. For example, in this: >> “Rude!” Chris pouted as the others sniggered. Pursing his lips as he sucked on his teeth for a moment, a smile started to break through as he said, “Accurate, but… still rude!” << It was good to see apparent progress on the part of Mikey with his demons and Danny with his conflict over saving Josh just to have him face so many more challenges. Josh very rightly pointed out to Danny, "Remember today isn't just my day, it's . . . ours! You and me." That seemingly broke the dam for Danny, when he confessed, "Something bad happens to you, and in my head, you're back on the rail and about to fall and it terrifies me because . . . I can't catch you!" And after Danny breaks down sobbing, Josh says, "Danny . . . I don't need you to catch me!" And then clarifies: “My friends make me strong, but you, Danny… you make me invincible! You were my hero up here three years ago, and you’re still my hero to this day, so if you’re angry and scared and upset because you think you can’t catch me… you’re wrong, cos you already have!” Lovely. The quotable quote award for this chapter goes to Avery: >> “How about a big personality AND a big dick?” Avery asked with a playful grin. << But of course the dramatic highlight of the chapter was Joseph's announcement that he was a match to donate stem cells for Josh. I'm not exactly sure what that entails. I had a "punch biopsy" on my hip to test my bone marrow a couple of years ago, and it was not very pleasant. But I would not hesitate to do it again if I knew of someone like Josh who could be helped. A worthy chapter for the saga.

2025-01-25 06:23:18 +0000 UTCIf you wonder why I have faith Axel is such a great guy, I have faith in his mentor. I refuse to believe any of our guys made the wrong choice when they chose their lad. I enjoy the proud Papa moments that our guys feel occasionally, like Mikey's when his mentee was so blunt to Mark. It's heartwarming, and a little humorous at times.

As for Rob and Milo, they certainly have some work to do too, but I'm sure things will keep getting better... right!? As for what's after book 7... I'm trying to avoid my head going there. For now, seven books is a big enough target lol

Although I do feel for Axel in regards to his lack of development, I hope he soon realizes what a great guy he actually is. Sounds as though Rob may be coming to some acceptance of Milo's high sex drive. I'm now worried about what will happen when our guys all finish at Kingswood. Matt better have some new epic planned for us, preferably with The Lads as mentors for their own Year 7 mentees.
