I'm also curious about the changes at King Edward's - although I know that's not our focus and we probably won't get the answers we'd like on that. I'm also interested in Todd. What is his position on the staff? He has similar reactions and verbalizing of his thoughts to Mikey. I hope this will be another good thing to happen to Mikey. I hope David figures out a way to help Axel; I still think he is redeemable.

2025-02-01 01:37:58 +0000 UTCVery nice chapter, though nothing earth-shattering occurred. The intrigue deepens as to Locky's identity (does the reaction to Mikey being mentioned signal anything?). Adrian learns a lesson. Mark has some realizations that should help him. David is frustrated that his mentee has so thoroughly poisoned the well. (I could imagine Axel dropping out at this point and returning in the fall to begin Year 7 again with a new group of boys.) It's notable that the Year 10 students from King Edward's are taking it upon themselves to improve the atmosphere -- but I got the distinct impression from earlier books that the tone at King Edward's was principally a result of the attitudes of the administrators and teaching staff. To the extent that's true, it's unclear how effective the efforts of Charlie et al. will actually be. Or has something changed at the top at King Edward's?
