LOL I do enjoy edging, although I like to think of thse chapters more as just everyday life. Don't these boys deserve some peace and quiet for once!? I'm sure something will come along soon enough to mess it up again, but for now, let them enjoy it :) Danny and Charlie are lovely to write. The changes happening at King Edwards are something I would love to explore more if I had the space within the story, but for now just showing characters like Charlie will have to do. It was nice to show Mark's progress with it too. Glad you liked it. The imminent departure of Joseph and Brian is a bit of a stark reminder that everything has to end eventually. Chris, Danny and the others may be just halfway through their time at Kingswood, but the time that's left will soon pass and then it's their turn...

Mikey definitely has a long road ahead in learning how to navigate his own thoughts. I can be such a horrible condition to live with, but he's fortunate to have had a relatively quick diagnosis, as well as a very loving and supportive care system around him. Danny and Charlie was very fun to write. I hadn't really considered the paralells to him and Finn, but I can totally see it. Chris is always great, but yeah, Joseph and Brian are interesting as they give a bit of a sneak peek of what's ahead for the main group of boys. It can feel like those seven years last forever, but everything has to end eventually! As for Locky... soon!!!

2025-02-17 20:02:22 +0000 UTCI'm really starting to change my mind on who Locky is...I feel like it isn't Gray anymore. Im leaning towards Nick's mentor...they didn't have the greatest relationship overall, and I feel like he would be Locky to maybe make up for that since it's his last year at Kingswood.

I keep a bunch of them open at all times. Moreover, I am generally running two different browsers at once. I know just where to go to retrieve what I want quickly. It would slow me down to lose this capability, so I feel for Mikey. At the same time, though, it seems apparent that human brains normally operate without the conscious and tangible awareness of these "tabs," unlike Mikey's experience with his various specialized voices. The question seems to be whether Mikey can maneuver the content of these voices (at least the ones that are beneficial) down into his subconscious mind where they belong. Danny seems to be channeling his experiences with Finn into his encounter with Charlie. I couldn't help thinking of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" while reading about Charlie's adventure. Chris, on the other hand, is . . . Chris. And it was interesting to get the insights from Joseph about what's next for him and Brian, what it's like to see mentees grow up and mature, and so on. Still curious about bashful Locky's identity.

Charlie seems like the kind of straight guy who would fit in well at Kingswood. His and Danny's bromance is sweet and wholesome - well, relatively speaking. I just really like Charlie as a person. Nice to see Mark feeling comfortable with someone from his old school as well; might we see Xavi again? I am going to miss Joseph and Brian so much when their time at Kingswood is done. Since I am re-reading the story from the very beginning, I think the two of them has been on my mind more lately. As a cheerleader for them becoming a couple, I've been so happy they've gotten together.
