Most schools would have only done the bare minimum; Kingswood cares about its young men. Mikey will be well-supported by not only his dormmates and friends, but the faculty and staff as well.

It's actually intended to be a deliberate juxtaposition - they're both sex scenes, but one is enjoyable (hopefully) and the other is not (also hopefully!!!!!) It sounds like you're getting exactly what I wanted you to get out of the gross parts. I know it''s not a fun plot point, and it's definitely not one I included lightly. As for Mikey, he's a tough little git. He can definitely get through it, especially as he ends up with support from someone you probably wouldn't expect.

When you write for your own enjoyment rather than work, there really is very little motivation to write someone else's story. I know other writers who definitely have the same issue. Without personal motivation, it often results in sub-standard work that you don't enjoy.

I know that's not profound, but it's kind of awkward reading something with lots of titillating sex scenes and then wondering if you're meant to be getting something out of the gross parts. When Luke was doing it to Rob it felt gross and awful. What Todd's been doing to Mikey is just wretched and makes my skin crawl. I hope they castrate him. And I hope Mikey doesn't regress too hard. He deserves to catch a break.

When I was still publishing stories on Nifty (it was looooooooooong time ago... nearly 15 years ago) a reader who liked my story asked me if I could write a story of his own. He gave me some story plots (actually just a start) so I tried to write a story for him. Soon I found it was sooooo difficult, almost impossible. I talked with my editor that time. After some discussion I came to the conclusion. It was so difficult because it's NOT my story. Similarly, a Nifty author, who I'm helping him editing now, recently received a request from a reader for writing a story. The author discussed with me about the story idea and tried to write two chapters, but soon found it so difficult to go on, so I shared my experiences with him too. So I think I understand what Chris is facing here.

Fingers crossed for the marrow transplant. It sounds unpleasant so good work, Joseph! It won’t be pleasant for Josh either. Hope Mark will be brave enough to hold his hand. BTW - Too bad David doesn’t have a recording of Todd to use as evidence! Also - still annoyed by the they/them/their referring to David.
