2025-06-14 22:03:48 +0000 UTCThis is possibly Matt's most rewarding chapter yet. After being on edge for so long, I feel like I can breathe easier. While we know that the calm can't last at Kingswood, maybe this is a portent for the coming Amelioration. Bring on Year 11!

2025-06-14 19:40:46 +0000 UTCI think many readers should have caught that, but Mark killed the spider for Josh even if he was terrified himself. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

2025-06-14 09:14:00 +0000 UTCReally glad you enjoyed it. Even though James took a big step back from the main story when he left the dorm, it's nice to see he's still around and still a great friend to the others. It's also been fun to explore his growth, as his storyline is a lot more subtle in a lot of ways, but still feels like a natural progression. Hope you enjoy the re-read!

2025-06-14 09:13:35 +0000 UTCThey're some good quotes. That final scene with Josh had me laughing (which may be a little narcissistic, but let's not pull at that thread!!) I could never really get rid of Mikey, but it was nice to be able to explore some of the possible repercussions of the big things going on. James and Mikey was an unexpected but enjoyable pairing, but it just adds to the realisation I have made that mikey works well paired with anyone! Gray's dad certainly has an interesting journey throughout book 5. Glad you liked the speech. It was a really sweet scene to write, same goes for finally getting Josh and Mark together. Thanks for the feedback throughout book 4 :)

2025-06-14 09:08:55 +0000 UTCBook 4 was wonderful, with very dark parts but in the end very cute. Josh is happy now. The cancer is gone, Mr Rudd is his dad and Mark is his bf now. His life is good now π₯°

2025-06-13 20:30:34 +0000 UTCThis week's quotable quote: >> βAre you coming out as Dannysexual?β Danny asked with a playful grin. << Runner-up: >> βI have a pube!β Josh repeated, grinning ecstatically as he looked down at the first body hair to sprout back. << Second runner-up: >> βIS POPCORN DANGEROUS IF IT GOES UP YOUR NOSE?β Josh called out. << Glad Mikey is coming back. There would have been an armed revolt if he went missing next year. And bravo to Mikey for all his help with James, and likewise to James for his thorough persuasive pitch to Mikey's parents. Can't believe Gray's dad is coming to teach at Kingswood. The story possibilities seem endless, which is good because there were so pitifully few already present. Matt believes in overkill. Danny's speech at the wedding hit the bullseye. And, last but not least, Mark and Josh getting together ends massive agony for us readers. May they find much happiness together. I'm waiting to learn about the portrait Josh will undoubtedly paint of Mark.

2025-06-13 19:50:24 +0000 UTCCried my way through the whole thing - beautiful chapter! I'm so glad we had these chapters. Looking forward to seeing how Gray's dad becomes a part of the Kingswood family. Although a lot happened in this one, I think James gets my vote as hero this time. Mikey's assessment of him was spot-on. I'm so proud of him, both for meeting his biological mother and for what he did for Mikey in talking with his parents. I feel the urge to go back and read the first chapters of Book One for the third or fourth time.

2025-06-13 19:41:46 +0000 UTCI only started reading this Kingswood saga recently and I'm finally caught up after several weeks of reading. It's amazing, there's so much I love about it. I'll give some feedback by email soon because there's hundreds of chapters to talk about. But the main thing is how much you make me feel the pain and the joy of the characters to a level I rarely do with fictional characters.
