Totally understand about your stance. I’ve had images for most of the characters but that shifts as they age. I think of a certain Harry Potter character for Mikey. There was a TV show in the “colonies” a few years ago called Fresh Off The Boat…several of the cast members have filled images for me as well.

2025-07-21 00:09:39 +0000 UTCThe Common Rooms are used for things like: - larger group activities (i.e. sometimes a whole Year group will choose to do something on a Sunday night rather than doing things with their dorm/immediate friends) - Mentor meetings - a change of scenery from their own dorms, so they're not always stuck in one place (or if their dorm is being used by someone else) - Parties It's mostly there as an alternative space for the students to use, shared amongst the whole year and as a bit of social hub for the entire year group. Often it's where they end up when meeting before mealtimes or activities. They definitely see a bit less use since the refurbishment provided all the extra facilities, but it remains the community heart of each Year group. And yes, the desks are there to be used for study, but remain just one of many options, including dedicated study zones, study rooms and even the Common Room, with the intention of ensuring students always have somewhere comfortable to study that fits their personal preferences.

Firstly, I do like people to form an image for themselves of how they see the characters, Secondly, I really don't think (no matter how good the AI gets) that I could ever really show them exactly how I imagine them. It may happen some day. I do actually have a celebrity picked out for each of them that I once imagined them looking like, but my own mental image of trhem has changed since I made those choices.

I guess many people would choose to use the dedicated Study Zone nearby. With a TV Room and a Games Room, what goes on in the Common Rooms?
