Aang was gone for 100 years, the air nomads were seemingly gone for good, and people needed a safe home. I entirely expect for us to take down stonehenge eventually, as well as other important historical monuments. I do think it's good to preserve it where possible, like we can move statues to a museum instead of destroying them, but history goes on forever. What happens when everything is a historical monument?
