HI-09 - R.exe Bot (Scrapped feature)
Added 2025-01-13 17:25:18 +0000 UTCHey! So, in a few months, it'll have been one year since i started this """""small teaser game""""", crazy how time flies!
Originally, when I was just starting out, the concept was very different compared to what it is now, and, honestly much smaller. It was really just the "Scottgames of Shipwrecked", where it would be used to tease stuff in the future.

(This was the very first landing page, for instance)

(And this was the first "menu", so to speak.)
This game, from the very beginning would be almost like a big puzzle box that the players would have to share to solve. My idea, at the time, was adding a mechanic that would allow you to instantly share something to the game's discord server. A screenshot system was debated, but scrapped.
A system I thought about instead, is that the player would have a camera, which you would be able to use to snap a photo and export it into the server. It would have a cute little message prompt, a fake filename, and show the image as it was taken in-game directly! Here's some samples of this in testing:

The reason this was cut was mainly due to the fact the HTML compatibility that HI09 relies on (which is already pretty finnicky) just kept straight up rejecting the plugin that made discord integration possible. As a result, I unfortunately had to scrap it. It's a cool idea in concept, and I might re-use it some day, just not now. Games like Sparky Marky also kinda go to show why that might not be a good idea to use non-optional discord integration anyways. HOWEVER, the camera itself was expanded upon and was made into the game's central gameplay gimmick once I went from just a teaser game to a standalone entry, so that's cool!
(Also, fun fact, R.exe would sometimes break character as you take photos LMAO)

That's all for this at least, thanks you reading! Gonna share more in a little bit

That is a cool concept! I get why it didn't make the cut though for now.
