Well, there's that too. But as you noted, there's lots of other way cute fish in the sea. They seem bound by more than simple mutual attraction. I haven't really explored their shared history, but there's a bit of a story there.

I'm not sure there are subtle layers to anything I do, but I have a good sense of who the characters are, what they would do and what they wouldn't do. And I try to never make them contradict their character with their actions. And that simple tenet ends up sometimes producing surprising complexity, I guess.

Daphne doesn't understand goodness yet Tyler still chooses to be friends with her and still attempts to correct her behavior when he knows she's going to attempt these things. Does he do it because he sees good in her at some deeper level and wants to bring it out? Does he he do it because he gets a thrill out of being good and correcting her behavior? Further, why does Daphne put up with it? There are many other cute teenage guys that like bubble tea and mario kart who would willingly pursue her more anti-social activities and gain the same level of pleasure. Does she like being caught by Tyler and thus forced into doing "good"?
