Bronze+ Exclusive—Campaign Compendium Template

I'm a big fan of endlessly finding new and better ways to organize my D&D campaigns. The latest approach I've found is using something I like to call a "campaign compendium"—a personal encyclopedia of sorts that I can incrementally build up into a robust reference document.

Most of the heavy lifting happens upfront: I just add in my player characters, villain(s), and faction(s); list any notable campaign themes or arcs; and fill in any notable details where necessary. After that, I just spend 10-15 minutes each week (within 24 hours of my most recent session, if possible) updating the document with little tidbits of new information.

You can easily expand, compress, or tweak this template as you like. I've found it to be incredibly helpful when planning upcoming sessions (e.g., when building encounters to highlight a character's capabilities, or ensuring that a Big Epic Fight won't be invalidated because you forgot the bard picked up polymorph two levels ago). It's also helpful for remembering important details, especially in the middle of a game!

Click here to view my Campaign Compendium template. You can make a copy for your own use by clicking File > Make a Copy, or download it as a .docx or .pdf by clicking File > Download > Microsoft Word/PDF Document.

Let me know if you have any questions about how to use this tool, or any thoughts about how it might be improved! Happy gaming :)
