Hey all, and hope you’re doing well!
If you’ve been lurking in the Patreon Discord over the past several weeks, you may have noticed some conversations about a few revisions I’ve been planning to make to the Patreon. This post is a formal announcement of a few changes, additions, and general tweaks that I’ll be making to hopefully make the Patreon a more useful, rewarding, and helpful community.
Here’s what’s coming up:
The Bronze Tier is getting two new perks: access to a library of printable color PDF versions of my Curse of Strahd: Reloaded guide, plus automatic access to a toolkit of DMing resources previously available only to Silver+ patrons. I’ll be starting with color PDF versions of the Reloaded Introduction, plus chapters on Death House and Barovia (available later today), with additional PDFs to be added monthly. To compensate, the price of the Bronze tier is increasing to $3 per month.
However, if you’re already a Bronze patron, you won’t be required to upgrade to the new price unless you would like to also access the DMing toolkit and the guide PDFs—if you’d like to stay at your current $1 per month (now renamed the “Copper Tier”), you’re absolutely welcome to do so! I’m glad to have you as a member of this fantastic community either way :)
The Silver Tier will no longer offer weekly campaign advice to tier members. (However, the cost of the Gold Tier is decreasing from $10 to $7, so make sure to check that out if that’s a perk you’re still interested in!) In its place, Silver Tier patrons will receive two new perks: access to a collection of homebrew tactical, narrative-driven encounters (with new encounters published weekly) and a collection of one-page oneshot adventures (with new adventures published monthly). Silver patrons will also be able to vote on upcoming encounters and adventures. The price will stay at $5 per month, so no changes there!
Starting tomorrow, I’ll begin publishing from a backlog of prewritten encounters for Silver+ patrons. On Monday, I’ll publish In Their Skin, a gothic horror encounter; on Tuesday, I’ll publish Courtyard of Crows, an urban encounter with an unorthodox combat twist. Then, on Wednesday, I’ll publish Shamblers of Fengrave Marsh, an environment-driven encounter using several different types of undead enemies. I also have three additional encounters to publish next week, after which we will return to an ordinary weekly publishing schedule.
The Gold Tier won’t be changing qualitatively, but the price will decrease to $7 per month. If you’re a Silver or Bronze patron interested in getting personal campaign advice and session-planning assistance and feedback, make sure to check this out! Note that, in order to take advantage of this price decrease, previous Gold patrons will need to manually switch from their current tier (now renamed “Crystal Tier”) to the new Gold Tier; otherwise, you will continue to be charged $10 per month.
Finally, the Platinum Tier now has three additional slots and will offer members a monthly choice between (a) playing in a monthly West Marches campaign (DMed by me), or (b) receiving an hour-long personal mentoring session. (The Diamond Tier will remain as-is).
I’m aware that this is a lot of changes, so please feel free to let me know in the comments or via DM if you have any questions, comments, or concerns! As always, please feel free to let me know if there is anything more I can do to make your membership more rewarding, and thank you so much for your continued support <3
Cheers, and happy gaming,
Dragna
PS: Please forgive the sudden deluge of Patreon posts and notifications. If it's too much, let me know and I'll try to consolidate so it's less obtrusive!
PPS: I think I've finally had a breakthrough on the Forest Fane, and the Sorcerer: Reloaded is fast approaching viability for alpha playtesting, so expect some posts about those over the next few weeks! :)
