State of the Patreon | Fall 2022
Added 2022-09-18 23:02:33 +0000 UTCA big thank-you to everyone who filled out my Fall 2022 Patreon Survey! Your feedback is absolutely invaluable to me as I work to make the Patreon the best it can be, and I sincerely appreciate your thoughts and support.
A few quick points following the survey:
- The most popular content requests from Silver+ patrons were Gothic Horror random encounters, side-quests, one-shots, locations, and stat blocks, with random encounters rising somewhat above the others in popularity. Other popular content requests included Cosmic Horror random encounters and one-shots; High Fantasy side-quests, random encounters, and one-shots; and Folk Horror one-shots. These content categories will be my priorities moving forward, though I’ll try to alternate between Gothic and non-Gothic content. (My goal is to produce weekly content, though that might stretch into bi-weekly content if I get bogged down with IRL work.)
- A few folks asked for Curse of Strahd-specific Patreon-exclusive content. Unfortunately, that isn’t in the cards at this point in time. However, I do plan to try and make any Gothic Horror content compatible with Curse of Strahd (and any other gothic horror adventures or settings), so hopefully that will prove useful!
- My next projects for the DM’s Toolkit will include an updated version of the Three-Act Structure Template, a Story Arc Template, and an NPC Template.
- Lots of folks gave great additional feedback (not to mention some very kind words), so thank you very much for that!
Regarding other, non-Patreon projects:
- With my Twitter account suspended, I do not plan to continue publishing blog posts on my Substack for the foreseeable future. This may change at some point, but without any platform to share those posts on, I just don’t see a reason to continue using it.
- I do, however, plan to continue (and increase my frequency of) blogging for FlutesLoot. Stay tuned for more articles to come.
- I’m also actively looking to set up shop on YouTube (you can subscribe to my account here), with an interest of publishing “DMing 101/201/301” videos for beginner, intermediate, and advanced DMs. I’ve spent the past few weeks fiddling with video “animation,” finding graphics, and audio recording, but I’m at a point where I feel pretty confident in moving forward. I’ll be sharing videos here and in the Discord, and I’d appreciate any help you can give in boosting ‘em!
As always, feel free to reach out any time. Until next time—thank you so much for your support.
Cheers,
Dragna
