A oil painted copy of Rachel Li's "The Knitted Hat".
I've started to realize the technical aspects of painting are no longer my greatest hinderance in traditional art, rather, it's a lack of original reference; of course I'm no stranger to invention, though sometimes I simply want to analyze, study, and recreate observational realism to later translate to more fantastical works. I'm proud of the effects I can proficiently achieve from other academic artists, but nothing replaces the satisfaction of an unique, successful painting.
