As your party approaches the sunken wreck in the Splinter Sea, the murky waters part to reveal the skeletal remains of a once-mighty vessel, its wooden frame creaking under the weight of water. The sea itself is a graveyard, the shattered remnants of a cataclysm that tore a subcontinent into pieces, leaving only jagged islands and a smoldering inferno at its heart, blazing like the wrath of a hundred volcanoes. Below the surface, the wreck looms like a specter, draped in tattered sails that flutter eerily in the underwater currents.

This sea is not merely a place of lost treasures and forgotten legends; it is a realm of restless spirits and ancient magic, where each island is a splintered shard of a once-great land, now teeming with dangers from another age. The ship before you, nameless and forlorn, whispers of the countless others that have dared these treacherous waters only to meet a similar fate. Massive sharks patrol the depths, their shadows flickering like dark omens among the ruins. But they are not the greatest peril—echoes of the past stir here, and the line between the living and the dead grows thin.

For the seafarers of the western coast of Mia, the Splinter Sea is a perilous shortcut, a choice made by those who wish to avoid the tariffs and pirate-infested waters of the southern Free Cities of the Param. Rumors swirl of collusion between the merchants and marauders, forcing all but the most desperate to gamble with the Splinter Sea's dangers. Some ships, like this one, never reach their destination. Yet, even among the foolhardy, there are those bold enough to seek out these forsaken wrecks, diving into the abyss in search of relics and riches from the Age of Legends. Here, in the cold, blue gloom, the allure of forgotten wealth is matched only by the certainty of mortal peril.

Your journey has brought you to this watery tomb. The silence of the sea is broken only by the groaning timbers and the distant, echoing call of something ancient and unseen, waiting in the dark.
