The Nine Headed Demon was the original guardian of the 5th Stone before the Jade Emperor. When he said “her people” he was referring to the 4 guardians when he saw the sun and the universe was bigger it essentially brought out his inner chaos that consumed him. When he went back for them to join him they refused and disowned him calling him a “Monster” thus not making him a hero anymore as he was saying. He felt betrayed by his fellow guardians who were the only people he really grew up with. Eventually the Jade Emperor took the role as the 5th guardian of the stone in place of him to keep the world safe from the cracks. The Nine Headed Demon also wanted the cracks to happen because it would in turn kill the other guardians for betraying him and disowning him.

So, basically, the dark cave is the safe universe(The one the Jade Emperor was in charge of), but outside of that is the chaos which he found beautiful and intriguing.? That's pretty much what I gathered from the episodes. I definitely want to learn more about the Snake.

2024-08-03 17:10:22 +0000 UTCThe Nine-Headed Beast was a minor villain in JttW. He was actually the son-in-law of the actual main villain of that arc. However, I have a theory about his real identity. I think he's Fuxi, Nuwa's brother. According to legend, Nuwa created the first humans, but Fuxi was their teacher. He taught them how to read, write, hunt, fish, crow crops, make music, basically everything that makes humans, well, human. I think that somehow, eons ago, Fuxi got out of the universe and saw the chaos beyond, but as a god of knowledge he saw it as something wonderous to be explored. So he went back to tell everyone about what he saw and tried to convince them to come exploring with him, but Nuwa, basically being an overprotective mother, wouldn't allow it, and by the time Fuxi gave up, he became trapped in the 'safe' universe which he came to see as a cage. That's my theory anyway.
