Back to the Rifter Preview
Added 2020-08-01 15:36:00 +0000 UTCI haven't actually figured out a proper title, but reading Ryan North's B^F (where he gives an in-depth review of the bonkers novelization of Back to the Future) got me inspired to do something similar with Rifts. (And maybe AD&D at some point in the future?) It's become a big enough project that it won't really work as a blog thing where I can post it a bit at a time, but I'll be sharing previews (and eventually the final product) here.
In high school I and my friends played a hell of a lot of Rifts and other Palladium games (especially Robotech), and it's been super weird, and there's a surprising amount of stuff I didn't pick up on before. Posting about it on Twitter led to me having a collaborator, Julian K. (a.k.a. Alien Rope Burn), who will be contributing his own sidebars with even more arcane details.
Anyway, this first bit covers the cover of the book, the introductory stuff, and the character creation rules (and the gameplay rules that Siembieda has been strangely wedging into the character creation section for decades).
Because of consider and other distractions I'm running late with July's tables, but I am working on them! Also I just got my copy of the French version of Magical Fury (from Jdrlab), and it's just gorgeous.
