June Update

Time for another monthly update everyone! Let's get started by taking a look at last month's posts!

The Archduchy of Sovar

Nested in the foothills of the Gynardan Mountains lies the Archduchy of Sovar. It is a land of rocky hills and large forests, both if which are home to dangerous creatures.

In the days of the Burbric Empire the region of Sovar was granted to the cousin on of the Emeror, who was named the Archduke of Sovar. The Archduke of Sovar kept his title after rebelling against the Burbric Empire and gaining independence.

The first Archduke of Sovar had always been obsessed with the ways of magic. He sought out the dragonborn in the mountains. He studied them and their draconic bloodlines in the hopes of understanding their natural connection to magic and learning to harness the same power. He eventually turned to blood magic which left a stain on his reputation.

Wether it's a good or a bad thing, the forst Archduke's interest in magic has left a mark on his lands and these days Sovar is known to be a realm of wizards, sorcerers and ancient knowledge.

While the current Archduke is not "known" to be a blood mage, people still judge him for being descendent of the first Archuduke.

Derwon Castle

Derwon Castle is a fortified town in the Fendalian Great Vale. The town is build on a steep hill between the Gynardan and Domart Mountains. During the War of the Vale the castle proved a key point and as such it has been besieged, assaulted and razed several times.

Derwon Castle sits on the highest point of the hill on which it is build. It is home to Duke Anwil and his spouse. The upper and lower courtyards are surrounded by a row of buildings, such as the servants quarters, stables and garrison. These buildings make up the outer wall of the castle.

Derwon Town is nothing interesting on its own. Most of the economy is based on the production of weapons and armor and there are some shops around town.

These days Derwon Castle and the surrounding town are generally peaceful, though the people are skeptical and there is a general sense of unrest. The past years has been rough, and who's to say a new war won't break out?

Castle Gate

"The castle is not as large as you heard people say, but it's still an impressive sight. As you crest the hill, you see it in the distance. It is well defended and could withstand a six month long siege. But there is no such time. The assault is tonight."

My latest map is the Castle Gate which can fit any castle your party might come across. Will they fight against an overwhelming enemy force, or argue about the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Derwon Keep

The main point of Derwon Castle sits on the hill and is Derwon Keep, a large keep that was build by the old Dukes of the Vale.

In the old days, when the Geat Vale was still united under the independent Duchy of the Vale. Derwon became the capital of the duchy and the Duke built his keep on a hill in the center of the Vale. Since then the Duchy of the Vale has been split in two and the two parts have become parts of the Kingdoms of Rasfadal and Burbry.

During the War of the Vale Derwon Castle has been conquered a number of times by both sides. The outer walls and town have suffered, but the keep has stood strong though it all.

Derwon Keep still stands and is now the home of the young Duke Anwil of Penling.

For the next month I already have a number of maps planned out. Two of those maps are almost done and ready to be published. That will be the second and third floors of Derwon Keep!

Alright, that's it for this update. As always, happy gaming!
