Hey everyone! Let me present to you The Town of Volatza, the third map for the Tropical Swamps theme.

Volatza is located as the western foothills of the Fires of Sunya in the valley of the Fira-Tora, meaning Great Fire Lizard. It was once a temple complex to honour the fire mountain, but has since fallen to ruin and become a small town.

It is a small community of settled, who established themselves in the ruins of a once great city. Here they have gathered at the foothills of a sacred volcano, amidst old, overgrown temples and founded their new homes. The central building of the town is the Hatching House. Here, all the eggs of the village are kept, nursed and protected.

The village Elder, a woman named Izaltalli is the wisest of the village. She is the head of the Hatching Home, and resides in the Elder's Home.

The Hunters' Hall is were the strongest members of the community gather. Every day they set out into the jungle to hunt. Their spoils are then brought back to the Hunters' Hall where it is distributed among the townsfolk. At the end of every day one hunter accompanies Izaltalli as they carry an animal up to offer it to Sunya. This way they can be sure that the surrounding lands remain plentiful.

Of old, the city was founded around the Temple of Sunya, the giant Fira-Tora that lit the world as it soared through the sky. The nearby volcano where believed to contain the fire essence of the lizard, and temples were erected at the foothills to honour the God.

The temple attracted more lizardfolk, and after many years it was surrounded by a great wall to protect it from Tora from the jungle, large, lizard-like predators. After the Fall of Parretoa many disasters befell the people of Araboatora, and the mountain grew restless. The people of Volatza fled to other places in fear of the volcano.

Since then the city has been abandoned and ruined, until it was repopulated a few centuries ago. The old ruins offered protection against the dangers of the jungle and made for a great place to call home.
