Callaern, originally founded as Cara, grew into the cultural and economic heart of the Carric people. After periods of Burbric domination, the city evolved from a monarchy into a powerful merchant republic. Through strategic trade, warfare, and political intrigue, Callaern expanded its influence across the western coast, ultimately subjugating its rival Assaen. All in all, the history of Callaern is a remarkable tale. Nothing but prosperity. It may sound too good to be true, but of all the histories recorded in Wordal, few come closer to that ideal than the story of Callaern.
