It really just depends on how you’ve developed that character and story. Some of the rougher stuff with Hermione makes a lot of sense in Secret Lessons but feels slightly off in Friend in Need, even if it is still enjoyable. I think you could do more romantic stuff with a character like Pansy but the story of how you got to that point would need to be different from what you’ve normally done, the same as Bellatrix. I think that it’s all a matter of approach.

A lot of smut authors only write rough and domination type smut that I sometimes find my eyes glossing over the smut because it’s basically the same as the last smut scene with different names in place of characters.
